It’s a brilliant feel to connect with earth and be refreshed. Living in the urban world, we almost tend to lose the connection with mother earth. Can you remember precisely when you last walked bare foot on mud or barren earth or even on green grass?

Well, let me describe you a very recent experience of my life. I used to walk in early mornings almost every day. But very recently I have been very edgy and hyper in my mood. So a well wisher and senior family friend has advised to walk bare foot over patch of bare land. And I just did as I have been told. And wow !!!! What a refreshing experience it was! I could not believe myself that I really do not remember when exactly last time I felt EARTH. I am not exaggerating at all. But I am kind of a person who feels too dirty to be bare feet. My concept of being clean revolves exactly around my foot only. I am not exactly aware if I am foot-obsessed all the time and if there are like minded people in this world or not. I do wonder when people find many other things dirty which for me are nothing compared to be barefoot. It has been always like this and very specifically I can recall my memory since my very early childhood. I can’t stay without a pair of slippers any given time. I always need to cover my feet to be precise. I would love to really know if there other peoples who are like minded and who always prefers to wear something on their foot.

I remember making my son’s life miserable by shouting almost all the time since he started walking, to wear his slippers at home. During winters it is another episode as I really love to dip my feet in warm water for almost an hour (provided I have been blessed with such free time but I try deliberately to make this FOOT time each day to be honest enough). It’s a luxury ultimate to dip my feet in warm water with soothing music playing at back ground and reading a favourite book and then life seems so very perfect. During summers even I do this once in every seven days almost. Everybody at home try to escape as they can’t tolerate warm water during hot summer evenings. But for me my foot means more than the bucket of warm water. I am partially successful to inculcate habit of washing feet in warm water in my son during winters for my love of the whole affair actually. That time of the evening we sit together and dip our feet in warm water with whatever available oil we get. Then we talk in lengths about the day’s accomplishments and sometimes I prefer to listen to my son playing guitar at the same time. So now my son also enjoys these Foot rituals during winter evenings and our many discussions.

After I got the taste of the new found fresh feel on my foot during my early morning walks, it’s an everyday thing during last summer. The grass blades on my bare feet and the somewhat edgy feel were really extra ordinary for a no bare foot person like me. Even the mud after rain used to make me feel really kind of freed soul. It’s an amazingly liberated feel to walk in a freshly wet muddy stretch of land and the earthy scent after rain is what one can actually immerse in, if tried. The mud seeped between the toe fingers if I used to think earlier made me quirk. Whereas in reality the mud dribbled toe fingers give a differently soft and earthy feel to cherish. It don feel that dirty instead to my utter surprise it felt, kind of really rejuvenating. Mind gets revitalized to a new level altogether. You feel connected with the core of being. But time matters. The wee hours when actually the first ray of Sun touches the sky and chirping birds make way to the sky is the perfect time to take an earthy tour to reconnect with the mother earth. Avoiding the hustle bustle of people around is the key to really feel re-energized by the early morning walks. The silence around is what really make us connect with the nourishing feel of mother earth and the abundant power we are blessed with to face each and every day ahead.
