The Diet Yo-Yo Weight Swings of Hilary Duff
Such a tiny Hilary...
If you're a Hilary Duff fan, you'll no doubt have noticed her rather dramatic weight loss over the past few months. Seemingly precipitated by her break up with Joel Madden, and his subsequent hook up with Nicole Richie, another Hollywood lass known for her super fast weight loss, Hilary definitely has a whole new body. How did she achieve this goal, and why? (Writers note: Why indeed. Why god, oh why? She now looks more like a skeleclone than the healthy young role model she used to be.)
Many of the answers can be found in an interview that Hilary did with Self Magazine, and a few excerpts are listed here in what I've come to call:
The Story Of Hilary's Fat
Hilary used to be quite naughty with what she ate, pigging out on junk food, and enjoying her desserts. Nowadays, not so much: I can't even believe I used to eat as badly as I did. French fries were an obsession also, and I completely stopped eating them a year ago. It's funny that when you don't let yourself have something for a while you don't miss it as much.
No french fries for a year! That's what it takes to really get some skin taut over your ribs! Hilary has the answers. Deprivation, Deprivation, Deprivation. She's also been quoted as saying that she chooses each day between having bread and dessert. If she has one, she won't have the other, so no toast and twinkies for Hilary, which is fine, because that would be kind of gross anyway.
Exercise wise, as you would expect, she's a little daemon. She does pilates and cardio regularly, pilates three times a week, and the gym at mysteriously named other times. Here's what Hilary said about her cardio fun: I run on the treadmill. I start off in a power walk on a high incline to warm up so I won't get cramps and stuff, and then I'll lower it. I can't jog on an incline. I'd be so tired! I also do the elliptical. I get really out of breath and get a headache on the treadmill, so the elliptical is better.
Could that headache be a result of not having essential elements in her system, like, say, food?
