Home remedies for thrush

Brush your teeth

This is the number one rule. Brush your teeth at least twice a day using a soft toothbrush. Replace your toothbrushes every three months. Floss everyday. Have a regular check up with your dentist. Refrain from using mouthwashes or breath sprays.

Virgin Coconut Oil

Virgin Coconut Oil is a natural anti-fungal and anti-bacterial. What’s wonderful in this is that it is not only a thrush home remedies for adults, but is also safe for infants and toddlers. VCO contains medium fatty acids that are easy to digest thus keeps your body healthy too. To use this, simply apply the vco to the affected area. It's also safe to drink it regularly to improve your immune system. Make sure to choose virgin coconut oil which is the cold pressed one and not the one used for cooking which is the hydrogenated coconut oil.

Tea tree Oil

Tea tree oil is commonly used for various skin problems, such as acne, nail fungal infections etc. Tea tree oil, can be used internally and externally in small amounts. It can be too strong and can produce a strong smell so you need to put two or three drops of the oil together with olive oil or coconut oil, and apply the mixture to the affected area.

Garlic

Thrush can be cured by consuming three cloves of garlic daily. Garlic not only prevents infections but also leads to death of certain bad bacteria.

Sugar Consumption

Watch your diet, especially sugar consumption. Sugar is not good for your mouth’s health and you could get diabetes as well.

Salt and Water

Rinse and gargle with salt mix with water at least three times a day. Salt is one of the most effective and instantly available thrush home remedies plus it has antiseptic effect. This method is also recommended for people with oral problems, such as gum infection and mouth ulcers.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar can also help to the affected areas. You may also feel a stinging sensation when applied particularly in raw areas or lesions. Other types of vinegar can also be useful and can kill the bacteria causing the disease.

Yogurt

Yogurt application also helps overcome irritation and prevents inflammation to the affected areas.

Baking Soda

If an infant is affected with thrush which passes to your nipples, then it's best to cure with one teaspoon of baking soda mix with eight ounces of water. It helps relieve thrush when applied to the cheeks, tongue, and gums of your baby.

There are so many conditions we can get but still, prevention is better than cure, and you should take good care of your mouth as it goes a long way towards not kissing your partner because of your condition. There are lots of thrush remedies at home, but there's no scientific evidence to support it as a cure, so you have to be cautious and use at your own risk.

These are just a few home remedies for thrush that you can administer. Done in the righteuos manner, these natural remedeies can really help reduce the pain caused by the condition. Of course it's still best to see the doctor if the symptoms persist.
