To be Happy..a look inside
Have you ever sang the song You Are My Sunshine? It talks about being happy. What is the meaning of being happy? Having a warm blanket on a cold night? Feeling a ray of sunshine on your face after a rain storm? Getting a hug from someone you care for? Being happy doesn't mean you have to have everything. Just make the best with what you have.
Over the past few years I have been unhappy. I have made some choices I am not happy about. I have done things I am not proud of. I have even made mistakes that have cost me dearly. All because I wanted to be happy. We all strive to find happiness in our lives. We try and do things so that others will feel compassionate about us and when they don;t understand it hurts. Like salt in a wound, you wonder what it is you did that has made you feel an emptiness inside of you. You try to stay positive and look at what is inside you and what makes you the person you are. Those that do have a positive affect on you sometimes aren't enough to keep that emptiness from filling you up. Just as you think you see that bright light at the end of the tunnel, you realize that its just another incoming train waiting to run you over and crush you.
We must look beyond our imperfections and realize that we can only do so much before we can not please ourselves. We must accept who we are and what we do. Be happy in the now moment. Seize every opportunity and do things that make you smile. Try and block out the negative things that being you down. You must hope for the best, plan for the worst and take what comes your way head on. Although sometimes I am afraid to be happy wondering if I get to happy, what bad thing is going to come my way? It seems to happen more often than not.
If you can't be happy today then when will you? Take each opportunity in life to want to smile, laugh and feel good about yourself. Don't let harsh words and actions bring you down. Know inside of yourself that you are a good person and being the best you can be. And remember to always smile!
