Hyman Ultrametabolism thoery and advice
The basic advice of the UltraMetabolism Diet include:
- Eat lean protein at every meal
- Get the right balance of protein, fat, and carbohydrate
- Choose whole ingredients
- Focus on anti-aging, anti-inflammatory foods
- Select foods packed with the best nutrients
- Keep the glycemic index low
If you going by into the hard core rules of "If it has a label, don't eat it!" it will be difficult in today's world. However, this book gives plan and simple advice on recommendations that are well-intentioned, and not likely to be lost on you if can take some things with a grain of salt.
You will be surprised even if you have read other diet "type" books, at the wisdom contained in this easy to digest information. If you are consuming the right calories, you do not need to count calories. Do not be surprised if your attitudes about high-fructose corn-syrup, and processed foods are altered permanently, and you can not look at your pantry the same, and find yourself transforming your cupboards and your entire kitchen.
The first 2 weeks are detox, due to the fact that you may be slightly allergic to things like dairy or gluten, and you will never know unless you remove them from your diet. Allergies to gluten can cause weight gain, so eliminating it will cause a rapid weight loss. You can expect to lose 9 to 11 pounds in the detox phase only, and then 1 to 2 pounds a week until you reach your goal weight. The plan is basically a whole foods diet, therefore you can find lots of tasty recipes on the Internet.
In conclusion: the "Ultrametabolism" offers great advice on just how to "reboot" your system if you have not been eating so well. I love that there is no counting calories, fat, or protein.
