Introduction

The word immunity is very much discussed in the transition period of COVID-19 pandemic situation. It promptly means our body’s immunity provides a protective shield in which the body does not get abducted by any infection very early and even if we suffer from any illness we can easily get rid of them.

Presently, the critical situation arising out of coronavirus infection across the world naturally remains the headline in the media.

In this context and in view of the increasing number of people getting sick from this deadly virus, all medical and health department experts are unanimous on strengthening our immune system.

What is immune system?

The immune system is a complex network of cells and organs of our body which together protect the body from germs and microbes. Due to this system, it helps to identify germs of our body due to which it becomes possible to destroy them together with our network partner so that our body remains healthy.


How does our immune system works?

Our immune system recognizes all healthy cells and tissues in its network and also protects them against external invasions or infections. In other words, the immune system directly means the immunity of our body, which provides such a protective shield, that it does not get caught by any ordinary disease soon and if we do suffer from any infection, there is an immediate attainment in getting rid of it.

Symptoms of weak immune system

Due to a weak immune system, we experience early fatigue, nervousness and restlessness, having stomach upset, complains of suffering from cold. Due to the continuous weakening of this system, besides many diseases caused by viruses and bacteria, our chances of suffering from many major diseases also increases.

But there are many ways in which we can increase our immunity and make it strong by just giving a little boost to it.

We have to strengthen our immune system, as it is the only way to save ourselves from this pandemic situation.

Here are some simple ways to improve your immune system

1. Positivity is the key to success

Begin your day with positive thinking. After waking up in the morning the first thing you should do is to bow down in front of the sun, the God of light and energy, strive to feel that you are illuminated and energized from within. After that, remember your parents, your mentors and bow to them, you will feel good and your body will react accordingly.

2. Replenish your body with water

Adding half a lemon juice, one teaspoon of honey and a little ginger juice in lukewarm water will give more benefits. Hydrating the body sufficiently in the morning helps in removing the toxic and unwanted stuff from the body and it keeps the immune system better. Drink water from time to time throughout the day as per your requirement. Avoid cold water or other artificial drinks as far as possible.

3. Herbs add life to your immunity

Add 4-5 leaves of basil leaves with 1-2 seeds of black pepper and cloves. Try to chew it like betel leaf, as long as you can. You can also consume Azadirachta and juice of Giloy leaves or tablet available in the market.

The idea is just to keep your immune system strong initially every morning.

4. Eat healthy

Whatever we are eating and drinking throughout the day has a huge contribution to the maintenance of our body. The result is a contribution to better immunity. Be aware that you get the required amount of protein, carbohydrate, fat, minerals and vitamins in your diet. Whenever you eat food, focus on eating it and chew it comfortably with taste. The more balanced your food is, the more benefit you will get.

5. Exercise is the best option

Spending 20 to 30 minutes every day by practising yoga, doing exercise, walking on the roof of the house indeed is the best option to strengthen and maintain the immune system.

By practising yoga, the oxygen level in the body increases, there is a qualitative improvement in blood effect and all the cells of the body become active. Exercises done as fast walking helps in activating all the body parts and also provide sufficient benefits.

6. Eat plenty of fruits

In addition to other seasonal vegetables and fruits in your diet, regularly include lemon, ginger, garlic, onion, amla, cardamom, cinnamon, pepper, turmeric, cumin fennel, celery, radish, cucumber, carrot, tomato, green leafy vegetables, papaya, banana, coconut, dry fruits etc. Vitamin C has been considered to play an important role in keeping the immune system strong, so fruits like lemon, mango, orange and seasonal fruits, grapes provide decent benefits. We should eat up breakfast within 2 hours of waking up in the morning.

7. Cleanliness is next to Godliness

To protect against the invasion or infection of microbes, internal and external cleanliness of the body is as much as necessary. Take bath every day and special care of cleaning the house, wear clean clothes, when you come home from outside always take your shoes out, then wash your hands, feet and face with soap, it will be easier to keep the immune system healthy.

8. Laughter is the best medicine

Laughter has a very positive effect on the immune system, it improves the blood circulation in the body, as well as the availability of oxygen, such laughter has been accepted by the doctors, scientist as the best medicine.

9.Sleep well

A good 7 to 8 hours of sleep at night has a soothing effect on the activities of the day. During sleep, our body gets a chance to relax and internal repairing. That is why our immune system is strengthened by good sleep.

In the end, it is necessary to attribute the elements that help in diminishing our immune system, in short, smoking or any kind of intoxication and junk food, regular intake of frozen packaged food, unhealthy living, negative thinking and unnecessary stress etc. are the main reasons for this. Irregular eating and wrong routine also play an important role in the weakening of the immune system. Try to eliminate these wrong habits to help boost your immune system to lead a healthy and active life.
