Week 33 swine Flu Update
This Week 33 of the the H1N1 Flu Virus and has dropped slightly. It is now widespread in Georgia. The H1N1 virus is expected as reported by the Centers for Disease Control to drop slightly during the latter part of the summer months, apparently they are considering alot of factorss involved.
The numbers of the H1N1 Virus will rise probably rise in the next couple of months. Thousands and thousands of college students have returned to college all over the United States and alot of students coming form abroad. Due to the crowded activity in airports, buses some can catch the H1N1 Virus before even reaching their destination. Student's all over the US will be in crowded dorms, classrooms and can spread rapidly under these conditions if it is not diagnosed and treated before it is spread to others. This poses a large risk for Colleges and Universities.
4 students came to Saint Andrew Presbyterian College from Equador where the president there is now starting to recover from the H1N1. Students have come from all over the world to this college alone. Since school started last week, 4 students were sent to the ER due to symptoms. Their outcome has not been disclosed.
Elementary, Middle and High Schools are also at risk. Crowded classrooms, sharing drinks, just being close enough to others that may become ill before they realize it and could possibly infect others.
It is very important that students, teachers, all employees of any school or day care wash their hands and also the hands fo the children who can't do it themselves. Please encourage your child to wash their hands and show them how to properly. Always keep hand sanitizer in your purse, especially after handling money.
