Sweet potatoes are high in fiber and low in calories which makes them a great diet food right off the bat. The benefits these super roots can have on your body is unbelievable. Sweet potatoes are packed full of vitamins and minerals as well as they are high in antioxidants. Eating sweet potatoes can also give aid to other medical issues including stroke prevention. disease prevention, they can help ward off some cancers as well as lower your risk for a heart attack and keep your electrolytes in check. They are also safe for diabetics because of their low glycemic index. The nutrition facts of a medium sized baked sweet potato according to livestrong.com are as follows:

- 105 Calories

-Less than 1% of the daily value for fat

- 41 mg of Sodium

- 24 g of Carbohydrates

- 4 g of Fiber

- 22 mg of Vitamin C (37% of the daily value for Vitamin C)

Sweet potatoes have a high fiber content, which in itself is a great weight loss aid. What the fiber does is , because of its bulkiness, it creates a  feeling of being full which in return will prevent overeating. Also, fiber takes a while to digest, meaning it stays in your stomach for a while which keeps you from eating more in a sitting and lowers your caloric intake and the possibility of gaining weight.

So, with sweet potatoes being low in calories and high in fiber you are sure to lose some of those extra pounds along with a healthy diet and exercise. Don't forget to drink plenty of water and get creative with it! Have Fun!
