What Are The Best Types Of Exercise?
5 Fun and Easy Forms of Exercise that are Effective and Enjoyable.
You are your own harshest critic and we've all thought about ways we could improve ourselves before. Weight is one of the biggest insecurities all of us have and if you're currently looking for a way to loose weight that's fun, fast and effective, here's a list of exercises that you'll definitely want to give a try.
1. Cycling.
Cars may have been amazing inventions when they were made, but as time goes on they are ruining the environment for us. As a result, many people have decided to take to cycling to get to and from work, school or anywhere else they need to go. Not only is it a good way to travel, but it's also surprisingly a lot of fun and an amazing stress reliever. You can bring along your phone and listen to music while you ride through a park, go cycling with your friends and even ride along bike tracks in the sunshine. Doesn't sound like fun to you? You can try other kinds of cycling like uni cycling.
As for the weight loss aspect of cycling, even just peddling up and down your street is great exercise. It's great for building up muscle in your legs and cycling for an hour burns roughly 850 calories. You can also use stationary bikes, they're just as good. So grab that old bike that's sitting in the back of your shed, dust it off and give it a try, you'll see the results after just a few weeks of cycling.
2. Swimming.
It's a known fact that swimming is great for your body and for cooling down in the hotter months, whether it be competitive swimming or just doing laps in your local pool. You can make swimming fun by bringing friends along with you and even the family! Swimming is relaxing and great for your body, what more could you ask for?
As for the exercise aspect of swimming, swimming is a great way to keep your heart rate up, build endurance, maintain a healthy weight, tone and build muscle and believe me, so much more. It may cost you five dollars to get in to swim at your local pool but swimming in safe lakes and beaches is free and if the weather is good, get out there and give it a try!
3. Skating.
Ice skating, roller-skating and roller-blading are all incredibly fun and affective ways to loose weight both for adults and kids. You may be a little wobbly at first, but the more you practice the better you get and learning itself is a heap of fun. You can buy some roller skates from any sport shop and roller skate down your street and on bike tracks or you can find local skating places and hire skates which usually costs around $5-$25 depending on where you go and what size skates you need. As for ice skating, if you live in a place where it gets snowy and cold in the winter you can buy a pair of skates and use a safely frozen over lake, if you don't there's always ice skating places.
As for the exercise aspect of skating, it's similar to cycling. It's a great workout for your legs and you can burn up to 500 calories just from skating for an hour. It's a great exercise to teach balance and great for the heart.
4. Any kind of dancing.
Absolutely any and all kinds of dancing are amazing exercise! Yes that includes twerking. Dancing works out pretty much every part of your body and don't even get me started on how fun it is. You can dance to sad music, house music and anything and everything in between. You can sign up for dance classes or just follow tutorials on YouTube. That's all you'll need.
As for the exercise aspect of dancing, as mentioned before dancing exercises every part of your body depending on what style of dancing you do. Things like belly dancing work out your stomach muscles, hips and legs and so does contemporary dance. How many calories you loose depends on how much dancing you do, so grab your dancing shoes and get started now!
5. Games.
When I say games I don't mean any types of games, though technically playing computer games exercises your hand muscles and sometimes your brain. Games like Just Dance, Dance Central, Wii Sports and other fitness games are really good for you and a blast to play. You can find most fitness games for around $15-$30 depending on which ones you're looking for.
Just like dancing, how many calories you loose depends on how long you play for and what you play. Parts of your body that you are working out also depend on the game, for example if you play the boxing games on Wii Sports, it exercises your arm muscles, along with golf, tennis, bowling, baseball and more. If you play games like Wii Fit and you play the running or jogging exercises, it exercises your legs and core muscles.
The most important thing to remember while you are looking to loose weight is to never give up. If you go back to spending all that time on your sofa watching Netflix or get bored of an exercise and decide to stop doing it all of the progress you've already made will be completely useless. Keep trying and coming here looking for exciting new exercises was a smart thing to do, making exercise fun makes it feel like less of a chore and I wish you all of the luck for the future!
