Have you accepted a change?

A Different Routine!

Life in Croatia is different to the life I had In South Africa.

Nobody could understand, or know that unless they have walked in my shoes, or have been there and done that.

It is difficult to understand the local people and I still do have that issue.

It is not simple to get into an explanation of my life from both worlds to other people.

Why people feel that way?

People don't get me, or understand my past life.

Most assume they know me but, don't have a clue of my past life.

I understand not everyone will know about me and past life, and I don't allow myself to bother about what they have to say, it won't change anything in my mind.

The different lifestyle I now have has changed a lot in my life.

My daily activities keep me active and happy.

In the winter, the cold, rain and wind doesn't always make it possible to be outdoors.

I enjoy that time indoors in planning movie time, reading time, and time for conversations.

Those are the important factors that keep my days alive.

Communication is good and it shows we are happy discussing our lives.

Movie times are special, and reading keeps my mind occupied.

I walk whenever possible a good idea to keep fit.

On odd times I visit friends and spend the day out to catch up on our experiences.

The once a week visits to friends back and forth allows for a positive lifestyle.

Winter can be a drag here, but I chose to not let the weather get me down instead, I keep occupied each day.

I often think about new ideas in planning meals, to make the meal tasty and unique.

Always a new meal is prepared.

The idea is different and it makes us look forward to that meal.

Routines change so, I don't get bored with each day.

Five months of winter to enjoy or to become depressed.

A choice I made is to be happy and enjoy the indoors as much as I would enjoy the outdoors.

I don't think about how I will manage each winter because I know how to be happy, and enjoy my new lifestyle.

I manage each day with a positive idea.

I know of others who do get bored in the winter.

It is not the same for everyone.

Every choice you make affects your lifestyles.

In my case, I chose to be occupied and happy with my way of life.

I avoid sitting at the computer for most of the day.

Don't watch television for more than two hours daily.

The simple exercises I do each day helps me through the winter.

Daily walks are the best way to keep fit.

I make healthy meals.

Garden planning is another interest of mine.

House cleaning is daily and that makes my space more comfortable.

Listen to music online.

Organize the inside of cupboards and make sure everything is in place.

Read informative books not only romance novels.

I avoid the stressful moments and focus on my best moments.

There some moments I would rather not look into like opening up Pandora's box.

A to-do-list is not what I have a habit of doing, it is just what I prefer not to follow.

Everything I need to do is on my mind and while sitting and relaxing I do what comes to mind.

I dress up in what I feel most comfortable and good at all times.

My appearance is very important.

The moment I step out of my bed I immediately make up the bed. Meditate for ten minutes, take a walk outside for the fresh country air, and have a glass of lemon water.

The second glass of water, plain.

Thereafter, I start my routine for each day.

Coffee is much later or never.

I walk during the morning as it is a great start to each day.

Laundry is once a week.

I take time for myself to do what I love and appreciate daily.

It is my best time of the day.

I am on my own doing what I enjoy and am not disturbed from my moment.

My routine is not the same as everyone else around the village.

I plan each day and follow that routine. If, for some reason my schedule got interrupted not much goes well afterward.

The winter calls for indoor activities.

Spring time is a good time too.

I start garden planning and look forward to more outdoor adventures during the much warmer weather.

Walking is daily but this depends on the weather during the winter.

Most plants are pruned in February, such as the pear tree, olive trees, and grape vines.

I don't do any of that. The local farmers dig into their fields to plant potatoes.

When the weather gets warmer new plants are planted for warmer weather.

I focus on my garden ideas and improve on the ground.

Ideas come and go and I like to have new plants for every season.

The routine is just as a stay-home-mom would continue her each day.

I am self-employed and work in my time. It is a pleasure to be home and to work in the time I prefer to in the summer. In this way, I often have time for myself.

The daily routine is exciting and different.

The summer time draws hundreds of individuals to the beach daily.

Seasonal changes make normal duties a challenge.

After the clock change an hour forward the longer days feel more tiring.

Winter brings us snow, cold, some warmth, rain, wind, and sometimes hail.

Summer is hot, sweaty, and tiring on most days but, with the help of a slight breeze we can survive each day with a smile.

The in between weather in September is most relaxing and cool. I enjoy all seasons it is up to me to keep that way.

The lifestyle is different and I chose my path.

To be positive, and happy with what I do each day.

Off-course, on some days I do moan but, everything I do is part of my life.

The way I carry out the daily routine to the way I approach conversions.

I can't ignore or escape my life this is what it is and will be be remains to be seen.

Live to be happy and appreciate what you have in front of you. Forget about what you can't get your hands on as time will come and everything will be on your side.

You can't have what is not meant to be yours.

You deserve the good, and with the good also comes the not so good, and the bad.

Accept who you are and change your routine whenever possible.

Change is good though some people don't know how to accept change.

I accepted change to move with my life.

You do what you can cope with through change be it your routine or your lifestyle.

Everything you do is for the benefit of you.

The routine you chose can become boring after a while, remember you can't stay in that routine forever.

Ever thought of how your life would be without change?

Time helps heal wounds and these wounds are not completely healed. You can make your home in any where on this planet.

The choice is yours!

What do you think about a different routine?

I believe that change is the only constant in life! When we experience change, however, we sometimes balk at it. We cannot see into the future and we don't know what will happen to us. We think that change is bad because it is unfamiliar. Like you, I thrive on routines. When there is a change in my life, I immediately change my routine to accommodate it, then I feel much better.

Hi Jodah Thank you for that. I too live in a rural area and find that peaceful and relaxing. We are 40 minutes from town Nice to have read some of what you do daily.

An interesting insight into your daily and seasonal routine, Devika. Because we live in a rural area and a 45-minute drive from town we have a relaxed lifestyle. We rarely even see our neighbours unless it is a planned meeting, and joke that "we are on Ballogie time" not city time.

We don't use a to do" list either, but do have a regular routine each morning and afternoon (feeding animals, collecting eggs, the mail and such). Spring and Autumn are my favourite times of the year...I don't like the extremes of hot and cold, even though we have mild Winters. Thank you for sharing.

Happiness is a choice we have to make for ourselves. Keeping yourself busy with the activities you enjoy is a good way to adapt to change. Nice hub!

Devika, you make me smile concerning your neglect of the to-do list. You're self-programmed and that's a very good thing. Stay positive!
