Health And Challenges

Staying healthy and fit is the buzz of the era.

From espousing exercise to changing food habits many people are changing their lifestyles to achieve their goal of fitness.

But how many of us really eat healthily, is a million-dollar question.

Packed calendars, never-ending deadlines, dominating work culture are the reality of life which in turn makes our life miserable.

While running behind the busy clock by wearing a sharp dress we are overlooking our sharp body requirements. The outcome is, most of us are falling in the trap of costly hospital bills.

Another challenge is only a few people have enough understanding of what they are consuming. Advertisements are all around us, and they vary greatly in their attempts to attract consumers, manipulating the fake things into reality, and baffling our minds to take a correct decision.

Process Of Planting The Wheatgrass At Home.

For planting the wheatgrass at home neither you need a huge land or terrace nor a huge investment. As most of us are living in a concrete jungle getting soil is a dream. You can use your balconies and even your window sills to grow this grass all you need is sunlight, a flat tray, wheat seeds, and coconut coir if you want to plant it without the soil. Coconut coir helps the roots to hold it tightly while growing.

Procedure:

  1. Take 1 cup of wheat seeds for a 20 cm tray.
  2. Rinse it in lukewarm water then drain the water. After a thorough draining of the rinse water.
  3. Soak the seeds in water for a day. After this, you will notice the seeds are a little swollen.
  4. Then drain the water again.
  5. The next step is to wrap the wet seeds in a cheesecloth or any thin cotton cloth and sprinkle some water on it so that it didn't get dried up and put it on room temperature away from the direct sunlight.
  6. After 48 hours you will notice fresh white sprouts of wheat.
  7. Cover the bottom of the tray with about 2 cm of coconut coir then spread the sprouts on it. The benefits of adding coconut coir are it will keep the surface fungus free.
  8. Now sprinkle some water and keep it under the sun. Make sure that the surface of the tray should not have standing water. Just keep the surface damp not soggy otherwise it will kill the plant.

Caring for wheatgrass is fairly simple, and within 10 days you’ll have a fresh harvest of healthy, delicious sprouts.
