I completed the P90X Workout Program by Beachbody last April after starting it in January of 2009. I felt compelled to do this 90 day workout program because my husband was doing it. I couldn't let him get ripped without me!

I had worked out in gyms for over 20 years and didn't know what to expect from this 90 day workout program. I'm not a fan of working out in the house. I prefer to be out running with a friend or doing something athletic outside. However, once you start P90X, as difficult as it may seem in the beginning, you don't want to stop. You start to see and feel results in about two weeks. Once you have that great feeling, it motivates you to keep going!

I have five reasons why I succeeded in completing the P90X workout program.  That's right, I worked out six days a week for at least one hour a day, and you can too.  If you follow this program, you will absolutely see results-guaranteed.  There is just no way you won't see results.  Just three short months, you can be in the best shape of your life!

Reason 1: I had someone to work out with

If it wasn't for my husband, I don't know if I would have completed the P90X program. He was getting up at 4:30 in the morning to do his workout. What excuse did I have? I stay at home during the day so I could find an hour in my day to work out. At the end of the day, we would exchange "war" stories!

Reason 2: I modified the exercises I couldn't do

Unless you are a seasoned athlete, you will most likely struggle with some of the P90X exercises. I didn't let myself get frustrated. I modified the exercises I couldn't do in the beginning. A few weeks into the program, I would be able to do much better, until at the end of the 90 days, I was completing the exercises like the folks in the videos!

Reason 3: I made sure I worked out six days a week

Yes, things come up. That's life. If I couldn't exercise when I was supposed to, I would exercise on my rest day. I just made sure I exercised six days a week. There were times when my husband would exercise twice in one day in order to get it all in. Just keep going!

Reason 4: I wrote everything down

Tony Horton, your fearless leader on the P90X videos, encourages you to write everything down. In fact, you can print out work sheets from the Beachbody website. Print them out and follow them. You will see how far along you've come each time you revisit a particular workout. Just seeing what you've done last time, makes you want to do better the next time!

Reason 5: I made doing the P90X workout program a priority

I probably should have made this reason #1 instead of reason #5. Nothing will get accomplished if you don't make this program a priority. Once you do that, then nothing will get in the way. You will automatically find a time to do it with no excuses. I even added it into my schedule book. It was just one more thing I could cross off at the end of the day.

All I can say is that this program will do for you what you need it to do. All you have to do is put in the DVD's and push play. And in the words of Tony Horton: "Do your best and forget the rest!"

      Thanks for commenting! Great job at almost completing P90X! It was hard for me too when my husband travelled. He was my motivator. However, I pushed through it. Tony is coming out with a whole new P90X program in the fall of 2011. My advice would be to buy the P90X Plus now and have it ready for when you finish. We didn't do that and gave ourselves too much time in between. We lost the momentum. I am just finishing RevAbs. I have about a week to go. It's another one of Beach Body's 90 day workouts. It's a good one too. The routines are shorter, but the workouts really work your core and abs. I even get a lot of comments about the definition in my arms so it does still work your arms and legs. I get bored easily so I needed a completely new routine like RevAbs.

      I just finished week 8. Not really doing the diet because I wasn't fat, but sure as hell doing the workout. I feel sore and beat up all the time but I am getting yoga butt and guns. I'm like you, I prefer running outdoors but running was my only exercise for quite a while and my upper bod and belly were just not cut. I am doing it with the husband. When he's out on the road it's so hard to do it alone but I'm on the home stretch now and I'll pop up some pix when I'm done. I, too, wonder how we'll keep it up once we finish.
