Why Waste Time With Self Pity?
Though It Might Feel Like Your Life Has Been Ruined
Faith Will Carry You Through
I did not have a hair brush, most of my clothes were ruined, all of the artwork I was working on destroyed, and that was just the tip of the iceberg. We waited four days before we could take any kind of action to start restoring what was left. The waiting was the worst thing. On the fourth day I could not wait idle any longer. I woke up in a bad mood but quickly realized that my need to fight back was the culprit defining my emotions.
I decided to go into survival mode. That called for a plan of action. Sulking around was not going to make me feel any better and waiting for FEMA, the Town Of Munster, or any other human was not going to work for me. I had a very private consultation with my Maker. The result of that talk left me remembering I had not lost everything. I still had the LOVE. This one thought has been my motivation and salvation. I was good to go. Faith in what I know in my heart, that is all that mattered now. Everything else would come in it's own time. It is all about the LOVE.
Love Will Hold It's Own
Attitude Is Everything
When the dust settles and the water recedes, as in my case, you have to grab your butt with both hands and jump in running. There is no time for feeling sorry for yourself. A lot of people in this world are going through some sort of terrible ordeal as I type this HubPage. They are alone in one way of looking at it. Yet, with a closer view they are not. Ups and downs, rocky roads, and chaos are a real part of living and survival. Sure it is bad. Yes it is hard. You can bet your sweet rear that it is painful and ugly to boot. The thing is, life holds few guarantees. One guarantee that I am sure of is LIFE IS HARD.The only thing to do is screw your head on as straight as possible and start picking up the pieces. Time is all we really have and wasting it on self-centered emotions is not healthy.
It Does Not Matter What Your Plight
Loss of a job, a loved one, your home, a pet, a baseball game. It does not matter what is bringing you down. The solution is easy. Pick yourself up and brush your self off and remember your FAITH. Count your blessings and then carry on. Do something positive, no matter how small. Help somebody in need. Talk to a friend or counselor. Getting advice or reading a self-help book can do wonders. The main thing is to stay positive and take actions to make your situation better. Attitude is everything and actions speak louder than words. Just go for it and it will all work out before you know it.
