Ab Rocket Review - Scam or Worth Buying?

Updated on December 10, 2010

Ab Rocket is yet another abdominal muscle training machine that gives you a lot of hope through its infomercials on the TV. All the models appear to have toned and flat abdomen and claim to have got it through Ab Rocket.

Ab Rocket is based on crunches and helps you do them with ease. However, most customers seem to complain about the working of the machine and its design per se.

This machine promises to help you perform straight crunches providing resistance when you come back to sitting position. The manufacturers give a huge advertisement in infomercials that the machine massages your back while you do your work out.

It looks funny to see massaging as a selling point for an abdomen toning machine.

There are a number of negative feed backs from people who have used Ab Rocket and feel they must not have wasted $100 for the machine

Low resistance

Ab Rocket claims to have three resistance stages which support you while doing crunches. However, the resistance is quite low and is inefficient in providing good support even in the highest stage.

Changing the resistance levels takes more time and works as a turn off. The coil is stronger than necessary and requires too much force to tune it.

Difficult to store and move

Every time you want to make the Ab Rocket flat, you have to unscrew the complete assembly which takes more than half an hour. The same amount of time is required to screw it back. To perform half an hour of work out you would be spending well over two hours with the machine.

No effective massaging

The cushions provided at the back do not give the promised massage while working out.

The neck and back support

Ab Rocket is made in a single size and suits only people whose height is 5.8’ and less. If you are taller than 5.8’ you would have no neck or back support, making it very difficult to work.

Even for shorter people there is no way to adjust the neck support making it uncomfortable.

Single plane exercise

Your abdomen muscles are complex and require more than just crunches to bring about any obvious reduction in the fat deposited. Ab Rocket provides only a single plane exercise and there is no possibility of changing it.

Too much price for too low work out

The price of Ab Rocket is over $100. For an amount as this you could get a lot of benefits like overall toning of your body in a gym. Even if you buy Ab Rocket you would have to spend a considerable amount of time and money doing other exercises in the gym.

It is not possible to reduce fat in any particular spot in your body and hence a proper diet and cardio exercises are necessary.

Ab Rocket is suitable only to those who are less than 5.8’ tall and can be effectively used to do simple crunch up. The usability is limited and is not worth the price. I would not recommend this to my friends.

The Ab Rocket is a simple device designed to enable you to do correct crunches. It does work if you are serious about your excersize. Nothing will happen over night. It is not very well engineered, but that is from a purely manufacturing egineer point of you! Parts are not very easy to find as the unit I have for instance did not have a model # on it...maybe it was on the box. Now that I need to replace a bent screw I found the customer service number (800-647-2290) They sent me a couple of screws which were not the right ones! Without a break down drawing with part numbers this becomes a difficult task. On the whole it does the job, I got definition now in my mid section.

The ab rocket is not over $100 that is a waste of time and a very big lie you can find it in popular stores for less than 100 like perhaps walmart or kmart so don't lie !

I am a short person only 5ft 2in and this product was unfortunately not made for us short people. If ur paying over 70 dollars for the product now. U r wasting ur money. However I bought it after the birth of my son. I found when u used the product correctly using ur actual core to manipulations the machine it works pretty well and u feel it. I ended up going from 160 to 130 within six weeks after birth. But I did notice even tho I did loose weight it didn't work that baby fat off my middle of my tummy. Disappointing but hey everyone can't be barbie

I bought it today and i haven't try yet enough.

The only think that i don't like it is that i don't want to spend my time assembling and disembling it.

Also it should been for higher people.

I am 1.80meters and my head is out.

Also it should had belt for the waist and springs from the back side so to pull you down when you are up.

I feel more to exercise my back than my abs.

      This is a SCAM.

They tell you can try it for 14.95 , free shipping, for 30 days. IF you like it, you can keep it for 150 extra, that will charge you 50 dollars each month for three months.

The thing is that your trial time starts as soon as they ship the product, and delivery times are supposed to be between 2 and 4 weeks... That means that by the time you actually get to try the product, your 30 days of trial are over...
