What is Chia and how is it used?
Chia comes in two different colours, White and Black. The first myth of Chia is that both Seeds contain a different amount of nutrition, however both white and black seeds have been scientifically proven not to have any differences at all. It is simply a preference of colour. Black seeds are more world widely known and cost a little less then the white Chia seed.
Chia when placed in liquid can absorb up to 10times its size. You can put Chia in anything you like. It is flavourless however has a gritty texture, think strawberry or kiwifruit seeds. When you mix Chia with a liquid it absorbs the water which gives a gel like substance. I like to think of Chia as a sponge in your stomach which in turn fills up your stomach, creating less hunger and reducing those mid-morning or late night cravings.

How annoying is it when you have a great day of controlling your eating habits and suddenly the 8pm cravings hit. This is what I experienced for 12months until a friend mentioned Chia seeds. I decided to give it a go after a little research and a lot of contemplating, I brought my first packet of Black Chia seeds from Woolworths.
I would put the Chia seeds into almost everything I ate, from smoothies, to my yoghurts, and even my salads. At 8pm I would place half a tablespoon of Chia into a glass of water and let it sit for 10minutes. I would then drink it straight away. This was easy for me as I can get past texture in my mouth, however my partner could not. I noticed that during the day I had more energy to do things and less hunger. At nighttime the cravings never came after I drank my "Chia Water." It was wonderful. I went from a dress size 12 to 8 (Australia.) And lost 10kilograms in the space of 3months. Could this really be happening to me? After suffering from a plateau that lasted 9months, I was amazed.
Chia was amazing. It worked for me and I can guarantee it will work for anyone. Give it a shot, you won't regret the decision. No weight loss pills, No extreme dieting, No extreme exercise, No dieting shakes, just a tablespoon of Chia Seeds. I am happy and Healthy and living life to the fullest. The best part is that I don't rely on Chia Seeds anymore, they helped me get to where I am today and I have maintained the weight for 6months after.
I recommend that you Start at only a teaspoon a day and slowly work your way up to more. I have read that too much Chia can give stomach cramps, so slowly ease your self into the process.
