DIABETES - Causes And Natural Cure

Updated on February 23, 2011

Diabetes is hormonal and metabolic disease that is characterized with too high level of glucose in blood and urine that stays there and cannot be accepted by body cells that need it desperately for all their functions . Glucose is precious and essential food for our body, source of our vital energy, without receiving it, body cells literally starve. Diabetes is state of starvation body cells from one side and unhealthy excess of vital energy on the places where is not supposed to be, and where is not useful but harmful. .

Hormone insulin, produced by pancreas, is key to open the body cells to be able to receive needed energy, but diabetics suffer from the one of two problems:

  • in Diabetes Mellitus 1, they cannot produce enough of insulin, so majority of glucose stays unused in blood
  • in Diabetes Mellitus 2, diabetics are more likely to produce enough of insulin, but their body cells don`t want to accept it, so they cannot open to receive glucose to be fed.

Such condition seriously damages all body organs - from one side, those ones that do not receive food start to deteriorate because of starvation, and the other ones, that have unhealthy excess of it, gets seriously damaged because of too high level of glucose .

Due to that, typical diseases that affect the people with diabetes are atherosclerosis, brain stroke, coronary heart disease, kidney failure, neural problems, blindness, in late stages even amputation of legs can occur.

Causes Of Diabetes

Epidemic of diabetes is nowadays present worldwide, with rising tendencies. Altough this disease is known from ancient times, today we have higher percentage of diabetics among the young and adult population then ever before and today diabetes became third cause of death (after cardiovascular diseases and cancer) - 3,8 millions of people per year die from this disease:

  • due to environmental factors (pollution and chemicals that influence human immune system, hormonal balance and health of the organs)
  • socio-economic factors
  • industirialized production of cheap food high on empty calories and low on quality (full of chemicals)
  • high level of stress : body needs a lot of energy instantly to cope with stress
  • obesity: fat cells do not have such ability to accept insulin as muscle cells
  • lack of physical activity (glucose in blood needs to be spent - exercizes and physical work allow spending it, so it goes to the muscles. Without physical activities, muscle cells do not need it and finally "forget" to use it)
  • various medications people use
  • increased alcohol intake
  • increased substance abuse
  • diabetes can be also caused by various other hormonal or metabolic diseases (like menopause, PCOS, adrenal glands problems, thyroid gland, kidneys etc.)

Modern style of life, that was supposed to bring abudance to many people, is seriously harming our health - we use far too much dangerous chemicals in all aspects of life for alleged "progress" of our civilisation and economical development, that are harmful for human health, and we can find them in air we breath, in water we drink, in places we live and work, in food we eat. Some of them are directly toxical, some of them act as endocrine disruptors and they are one of the reasons while human immune and endocryne system develop such disases as diabetes is.

Mass production of human food is today based exclusively on harmful chemicals (herbicides, artificial fertilizers, pesticides, hormones, antibiotics, additives, preservatives, colurs, taste enchancers, artificial sweateners, irradiation etc.) - that cause havoc in human bodies, disrupt hormonal balance, damage organs, at first those ones responsible for healthy digestion. At the same time, modern food is low on natural vitamins, minerals and aminoacids, and everything but fresh before consumption - it is chemically preserved, irradiated, frozen or completely processed and altered. Majority of people don`t eat real food that can give them vital energy any more - people mainly eat quick callories full of chemicals, that taste well and make them ill in the long term.

Why today socio-economic factors play major role in development of diabetes?

In the past, diabetes was mainly present among the rich people, who had excess of food and who had chosen not to eat moderately and healthy.

Diabetes is today present and prevalent among the people with low income or in poor communities. For the difference of rich people, that have always choice of buying healthy food, low income or poverty does not allow people to buy more expensive and much higher quality organic food, so many of them are doomed to eat the cheapest industrial food high on carbochydrates and empty calories, that literally keep them going, and can cause diabetes in the long term.

Even if previously poor people significantly improve their economic standard of life (like recently happened among many people in China and India), they usually just start to eat more food (not healthier, because industrial food is unhealthy), and due to that gain weight, so they develop diabetes even more easily :

  • fat cells do not accept insulin so easily as muscle cells
  • muscle cells of people born in poverty have program of "insulin resistance" from the earliest age (that is often developed already in womb of mother) - if there is not enough of food available , body develops insuline resistance in the muscles and brings all glucose to the brain so brain can normally develop. On that way brain cells are protected, but muscles get used to the low callory food only - they are programmed to be adjusted to deprivation of food, not to the abundance. If standards improves, abundance of food (especially high in callories and carbohydrates) becomes unwanted shock for muscle cells, who don`t know how to cope with so many glucoses and refuse to accept it - so it stays in blood as excess, even though there is no significant weight gain present.

Symbolicaly, diabetes pictures irony and unjustice of our society: the same as vital energy-glucose kept in blood and not being able to enter in the starving body cells, among humankind, vital energy (resources, food and joy of life) is kept by the small groups of people who already have excess of it, but those one who need it the most don`t receive it on adequate way so the they starve on one way or another.

Differences and Similarities Between Diabetes 1 And Diabetes 2

Type 1 diabetes, ( insulin-dependent diabetes), altough is commonly diagnosed in teenagers, or young adult people, can be developed in any period of life. In type 1 diabetes, the pancreas is unable to make sufficient amount of insulin, that enables the body cells to use glucose as energy. It this type of diabetes, something in the body destroys those pancreas cells that are responsible for insulin production ( β cells: Beta Cells). The lack of insulin leads to increased blood and urine glucose.

Many researches say that diabetes mellitus 1 is inherited disease. When disease is "inherited", it does not mean that it cannot be healed or prevented - we might inherit patterns for disease, but disease can occur only if there are adequate triggers that activate those patterns .

Some researches also point that one of the triggers for wrong response of the body on pancreas cells can be proteins of cow`s milk, especially because milk and diary products are full of hormones for fast growth of the cattle and better production of milk.. (there are 7 hormones used for this purpose and all of them can interfere with human hormones and insulin production)

This type of diabetes can be also triggered by wrong metabolism of zinc, magnesium and chromium (by lack of those minerals in the body). It can be triggered by some medications, exposure to polluters, stress, some other diseases...

Medicine treatments for type 1 diabetes includes taking insulin shots, diet, exercise, and strictly controlling blood pressure and cholesterol.

Insulin Long Term Side- Effects

Insulin for type I diabetes is life saviour - but in long term it is not perfect solution for many. It is very difficult to adjust the adequate dosage, it surpressess natural production of insulin in the healthy β-cells in islets of Langerhans in pancreas that are undamaged, it does not allow natural regeneration of pancreas

Vascular cells do not respond on synthetic or porc insulin diabetics use, and that leads to development of artheriosclerosis that causes strokes, heart disease and even leg amputations, inspite of insulin intake. So insulin works only to help liver, muscles and fat cells to assimilate glucose, but does not work for vascular cells that get heavily damaged.

Pancreas And Diabetes 1

Pancreas is complex organ, directly connected with liver and stomach, responsible for:

  • secretion of digestive enzimes
  • production of several, highly important hormones in places called Islets of Langerhans:
  1. Glucogen, that activates liver to produce glucose (Alfa cells)
  2. Insulin, that is hormone that opens the body cells to accept glucose (Beta cells)
  3. Amylin, that is hormone that inhibits oveproduction of glucogen (Beta cells)
  4. Somatostotin, that inhibits secretion of various body hormones (Delta cells)

When Beta cells get destroyed in Diabetes I, actually two pancreas hormones cannot be produced properly: insulin and amylin, but diabetics usually get shots of insulin only, while amylin might be needed as well.

Type 2 diabetes

Type 2 diabetes  (non-insulin-dependent diabetes), is characterized by high blood glucose in the context of insulin resistance and relative insulin deficiency. In this type of diabetes, problem is more within the body cells that should respond on insulin and they don`t do it adequately (insulin resistance) than with the production of insulin in pancreas. People can develop this type of diabetes at any time during their life even during early childhood, and pattern for it can be also inherited.

Medicine treatments for type 2 diabetes include using diabetes medications, diet, regular exercise, and controlling blood pressure and cholesterol.

Over the time, if disease progresses, and medications are not able to keep glucose levels under control, insuline will also be prescribed for regular use.

The facts are that the both types of diabetes can be triggered by more or less same triggers and that anyone exposed for too long to unhealthy style of life (food, stress, lack of exercize, polluters, synthetic hormones of any kind etc.) can get any of the 2 types. It is unknown how many people are already in prediabetes state, that will over the years develop in real diabetes,.

Symptoms of Diabetes

Main symptoms of diabetes include:

  • excessive thirst,
  • excessive urination,
  • excessive appetite,
  • fatigue,
  • blurred vision,
  • frequent and slow-healing infections including bladder, vaginal and skin,
  • loss of weight,
  • lack of concentration,
  • numbness in the feet.

Medications That Can Cause Diabetes :

The list of possible medications or substances as possibe causes of diabetes includes:

  • ACTH , Acthar, Agenerase , Alloxan, Alpha-adrenergic agonists , Amprenavir, Aristocort , Atolone
  • Benzodiazepine tranquilizers and barbiturates (what is majority of psychiatric drugs)

  • Beta-adrenergic agonists
  • Celestone, Cognex, Colocort, Cortef , Cortenema, Corticotropin, Cortifoam ,Cortone, Cephalosporin
  • Decadron , Deltasone, Dexameth, Dexone
  • Entocort EC , Estrogen (Estradiol) found in Contraceptive Pills
  • Framycetin
  • Genotropin
  • H.P. Acthar Gel , Hexadrol, Humatrope, Hydrocortisone, Hydrocortone, HGH
  • Interferon alpha - can lead to antibodies and a form of autoimmune Type 1 diabetes. Paradoxically, this is also a research treatment for Type 1 diabetes.
  • Kenacort
  • L-asparaginase, Liquid Pred , Lumigan
  • Medrol , Methylprednisolone, Meticorten, Mymethasone
  • Niacin (Vitamin B3) - excessive niacin can cause high blood sugars.
  • Norditropin, Norvir

Natural Cures For Diabetes

Medicine says that diabetes cannot be cured (as they say for almost every disease), but this is not correct - many people cured it on natural ways, if they removed the triggers and changed their style of life - with:

  • appropriate diet,
  • regular physical activities (walking, exercizes, swimming, bycicling etc.)
  • some antistress regime, (regular sleep, more fun and time off, more outdoor activities, relaxation, yoga, meditation...not accepting more responsibilities that one can take care off)
  • Homeopathy - there are great results in helping cure diabetes with homeopathy: appropriate homeopathics can quickly balance sugar levels (not too high, not too low). activate normal function of pancreas and regenerate it`s cells, activate production of insulin and cure hormonal and metabolic problems connected with diabetes. .
  • various natural therapies: Reiki and energy treatmants are extremely powerful tool for healing diabetes - long distance or directly.
  • herbal remedies

Vitamin K- might help with Insuline Resistance

Studies show that blood sugar levels improved for the men who were taking 500 mcg of vitamin K daily, in combination with multivitamin/multiminerals and additional vitamin D and calcium. It might not work for people who are too obese and too overweight.

Gymnema Sylvestre

Anti- Diabetic Herbs

There are many herbs that help lower blood sugar levels, increase production of insulin and it`s uptake - but nothing works permanently without adequate diet. Miracle natural remedies that would quickly cure diabetes without any personal involvement in exercising, stress relief and without necessary changes in diet - do not exist, altough they do help to easy condition. Diabetes requires full self treatment and some self-discipline, there is no remedy that would work on permanent basis if someone continues to eat what is not allowed, or is not moderately physically active.

Here are few helpful herbs and remedies with strong anti-diabetic properties:

Garlic and onion reduce blood sugar levels, and are an excellent herbal treatment for diabetes, especially when used fresh.

Fenugreek : has strong anti-diabetic properties, as well as triglyceride and LDL cholesterol lowering effects. It has also been shown to support HDL (good cholesterol) levels. Defatted fenugreek seed powder has been shown in studies to increase glucose tolerance and decrease fasting blood glucose levels after as few as 7 days.

Holy basil also has the ability to reduce blood sugar levels, and can lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

Goldenseal : It supports secretion of insulin and due to that lowers blood sugar levels.

Panax Ginseng : Ginseng balances blood sugar levels, increases insulin secretion and the number of insulin receptors, and an increase in energy. It also supports support blood vessel health.

Gymnema Sylvestre ,native herb to India, has many benefits for diabetics. It reduces blood sugar levels, but it can also block sweet tastes, and reduce the cravings for sugar. It can also help to regenerate cells in the pancreas which secrete insulin.

Zeolite, mineral that activates insulin secretion and apsorption, it is also strong antioxidant.

Stevia is herb that has sweet taste and can replace sugar in the meals and beverages on natural way, and due to that regulates glucose levels.

Tips for Anti-Diabetic Diet

The main point of diet is to eat food which will not immediately increase blood sugar levels after meal (food with low or moderate glycemic index) , and avoid all food that quickly increases blood sugar and also avoid bad fats, chemicals and hormones in food.

Avoid refined carbohydrates such as soft drinks (soda), cookies, cakes, chocolates, sweets and sugary breakfast cereals.

Avoid eating milk and diary products.(full of hormones).

Avoid eating white bread, white flower pasta, white rice.

Avoid intake of meat and eggs- such food is full of hormones and bad fats and replace it as much as you can with fito proteins (beans, legumes, tofu, seitan, tempeh). Fito protein foods (all sorts of beans, legumes, tofu, tempeh, seitan), should be eaten at least twice a day (or even better with every meal) to help balance your blood glucose levels. French beans, haricot beans, azuki beans have been used since ancient times as an effective remedy for regulating blood sugar. Fish is also good .

Garlic and onion reduce blood sugar levels, and are an excellent herbal treatment for diabetes.

Increase the consumption of fruit, vegetables and salad greens. Ideally you should consume 1-2 serves of fruit and 5 serves of vegetables daily. Buy organic fruit & vegetables if possible. Include more vegetables with bitter taste (e.g. asparagus)

Significantly increase the consumption of fresh raw organic food in your meals.

Choose wholegrain foods containing all parts of the grain. Good examples include: oats, corn, brown rice, wheat, barley, rye, millet, amaranth, quinoa.

Increase Eating Good Fats: olive oil, line seed oil, pumpkin seed oil, raw nuts and seeds, avodacos are rich in good fats.

Avoid synthetic fats found in margarine, TV dinners, commercially prepared snack foods and deep fried food. When your cells are full of these synthetic fats , insulin cannot work effectively.

Of course: strictly avoid alcohol beverages.

Use only that medications you really need and when you really need, and not on regular basis. The best would be - no medications at all (check list of medications that can trigger diabetes), but no medication should be ever stopped used immediately if one is using it regurarly then very carefully and very gradually.

Ensure you eat regularly and choose healthy snacks mid morning and mid afternoon to balance your blood sugar levels between meals. (like fresh vegetables, green salads, fruits, nuts, seeds, fresh juices)

Genetic Predisposition Of Diabetes: "I Can't Help It, It's My Genes"

As well as you can have a genetic predisposition to being overweight or underweight, you can have a genetic predisposition for insulin resistance and developing diabetes.

While eating completely same type of food, some people gain weight, some people lose it, some have healthy blood sugar levels (at least for certain period of time), some other develop insulin resistance and diabetes. This difference is often connected with type of food your mother had eaten during the pregnancy and type of food you are used to eat in your earliest age and during the childhood.

If you developed diabetes and suspect that genetics may be a factor, you have a choice. You can accept it as your destiny, start to take medication and do nothing else about it, so your disease will continue to progress, or you can consider that you have that much greater reason to learn to eat healthy food, exercise and learn how to manage your stress so your sugar levels will return to normal and your pancreas will start to heal.

Goldenseal Root
Goldenseal Root

Of course, global epidemic of diabetes worldwide can be solved by prevention only, and for that people need to significantly and globally change style of life that should be in friendship with nature, not against it : people should seriosly minimize pollution and it`s disastrous effects on all of us (what is the point of false " development" and quick "industrial progress" if it is killing us all), find the way how to solve and prevent poverty wisely as well as people should finally start to grow healthy food again and decide to live more relaxed and physically active lives. Up till this happens, diabetes will be successfully cured only on individual basis, while very many will suffer and die from it.

I don`t neglect any possible cause for Diabetes 1,FF,neither viral nor genetic, but...

I published one small article, not the whole book here, and let us go straight to the point:

1.Did you order from me to publish this article and paid it ? No.

2.Have you tried all the methods I mentioned here? No

      3. Did you consult me in healing you and we failed? No

So what about you have right to complain?

It would be the best that you write the article about this topic (based on 20 years of experience I am very sure you know a lot) and I am very sure that only person who has disease understands it the best.

On that way you will be completely satisfied with every part of your article, and other people could learn something from your own experience.

I am glad you enjoy excellent health and wish you all the best.

Thank you for the visit and comment, Fundguru - I do agree with you in the biggest part of your comment. Everyone can get diabetes while eating unhealthy food as you described.

Just to add that today even children or very young people get diabetes, that can be partially developed while still in mother`s womb who did not eat healthy food, who was on various medications, exposed to polluters... as predisposition. When child continues to eat unhealthy food, gets blood sugar problems much more earlier, then if he/she was not fed by unhealthy food from fetus stage.

Times when diabetes was disease of only older ones than 50s are over, in USA, Europe, and also in the rest of the world.

Just to mention, as example, a very popular disease PCOS, polycystic ovarian syndrome, is so often accompanied by diabetes, and very young girls get all countries around the world.

BTW I am not from USA.

    • fundguru profile image

      7 years ago from Germany

I do not exactly know what they teach you in the US about the causes of diabetis, but we in Europe learn this different. There are only few people who have diabetis due to genetic reasons, because ancestors also had it. But most cases of diabetis occure above the age of 50 and are directly linked to sugar consumption.

Today in the western world we consume not only organic food and meat, but also a lot of sweets and we drink lot of juices and soft drinks with a lot of sugar inside.

Therefore we learn that we shall not consume more than 50 gramm sugar per day, because if we consume more then after a few decades our body becomes exausted and cannot produce anymore enough insulin.

And 50 gramm sugar is not much. Just think that a normal coke contains 10% sugar. So in one litre coke about 100 gramm sugar.

If you then think that some people eat mainly fast foods and in addition drink 2 two litres soft drinks per day, then they consume hundreds of gramms sugar per day, therefore it shouldn´t surprise that one day they will have diabetis.

Well done, The Senior - prediabetes can be solved and you are doing OK - congratulations.

I warmly suggested you that you remove from your diet few other things as well (according to your preferences, of course) and your blood sugar will be even more good than now. Altough you don`t need to be worried, because of your present sugar levels it is better to be on the safe side.

I have found this very informative for I have 'pre-diabetes' which I didn't believe existed. I decided to take my own test and when after fasting it read 134 I said ok - let's get going.

I really didn't like what the doctor had said because it was incomplete in my mind - sooo I did my own research and found it was 'insulin resistance' and what it was - I immediated threw out all white flour and process sugar and immediately dropped 11 pounds and blood sugar went back to 'normal', however according to some MD's you still have to have a fasting blood sugar of 99 or less and mine is still 101/103 - so according to some MD's I'm still 'pre-diabetic'.

I have also written a hub 'pre-diabetes and me'.

...jus to add something more: "insulin cells" you mentioned are not only insulin cells - they are called Beta cells and they secrete 2 hormones (not only one) - insulin and AMYLIN: amylin is hormone that keeps secretion of glucogen under control (glucogen goes from Alpha cells), but this hormone is recently discovered and not everyone gets it in combination with insulin.

Most probably combination of both hormones results in less health problems, because insulin destroys blood vessels and result can be heavy damage of feet, that result with leg amputations.

I hope this info will help you.

I am very sorry to hear that you have diabetes 1, FF.

I have to correct you: diabetes 1 is triggered exactly by above clearly described reasons, whether you like it or not. Of course, every person has his/her own set of triggers. Immune system responds on the way it responds because it gets damaged because of, mainly, environmental factors, stress, medications, artificial hormones in the food, polluters, and yes it can have a lot to do with diet of your mother (but not always). This is official medical data (especially WHO), and I recommend you to explore this topic more, because if you are not informed, it does not mean that data is not correct.

Yes, person who has diabetes 1 can be cured with combination of natural methods, completely, but not only by eating the carrots for sure, because I did not say anything like that.

I assisted in healing several people with diabetes 1 by combination of homeopathic remedies and energy healing, but I cannot write here whole "how to" and "which remedies to use" because homeopathy requires individual approach, so people need consultations. And yes, diet is necessary. With or without carrots.

I also stated that not everyone can get healed, because sometimes is too late for natural methods, some people do not want to try, sometimes they just do not believe, because they are convinced that is not possible.

I deeply understand your anger, but you are not angry with me, you are angry with your disease.

If you did not get healed (I really don`t know what did you try, I know just that you had food police and that you dislike the type of diet I suggested, so you became angry only after reading about such diet), but please do not say that is impossible for everyone, because it is just not fair and not correct.

I wish you all the best.

This Hub is a beguiling mixture of factual information and basic mistruths. The idea that genetically acquired Type 1 diabetes can be cured by eating more vegetables is unfair to the millions of people who suffer from this condition and serves to perpetuate the misconception held by non-diabetics that the disease is due to 'over-eating'. Can you imagine the distress of being surrounded by 'food police' who think they know better than you what you should be eating at a given moment?

Also, using the word 'cure' in the title is misleading. Type 1 diabetes cannot be cured. The confusion arises from the the fact that Type 2 does respond very well to lifestyle change as it it caused by an overuse of the insulin production capacity of the body. Type 1 is a Different disease with similar symptoms. It is caused by an immune system malfunction, the body destroys it's own insulin cells. It has nothing to do with what the mother eats or the lifestyle of the potential diabetic.

It's so easy to promise a cure or offer advice when you don't live with the reality of an illness. I have Type 1. Do you really think that I continue to have this disease simply because I haven't tried hard enough to cure myself of it? Can a double amputee also regrow legs if they simply put their mind to it and eat more carrots?

I am disappointed by this Hub.

      Hi Russel,

neither medications nor insulin are cure for diabetes, but they are certainly able, for some people, to keep the problem under control.

I wish you all the best, and like your positive attitude. Thank you for sharing your experience here.

Hm Dimitris, my opinion is that garlic will protect you from such problems.

Thank you so much for the visit.

Thank you very much Polly, for your great comment. You are right, when someone is taking medications, it should be careful what with to combine them. Blood thiners are very tricky, when somebody is using them, they interact with so many other medications or natural remedies.

Thank you for the visit and your dedication to natural methods.

Hi Craig, sorry for delay, I had to (and wanted to, LOL)go out on this beautiful and warm sunny day.

I am sorry because of your brother. I also know one lady who has diabetes 1 for almost 50 years and she is well, on insuline, especially since she has been retired (less stress, better health.) and she also learned how to keep her disease under control.

BTW, me and my colleagues helped to several people to go off of insulin and replace it with natural remedies, and after that, they needed only diet and exercize - combination of Reiki and homeopathy can sometimes do "miracles". There is only one problem - many people do not try such ways, and many more are not disciplined and expect that they could continue with bad habits after healing, what is not correct. There are also some people they expect "miracle remedy" and when they hear words like "diet", or "walking instead of driving car" they just run away from healing and continue with medicines. Of course for them there is no cure.

No, I don`t visit doctors any more - my body is my responsibility, so if I don`t feel well (if I am too exchausted) I go to sleep and get good rest, I don`t wait to get ill...(majority of modern diseases develop because people are tired and stressed out).

Some people can heal their hernia naturally (if damage of connective abdominal wall, that happens as a part of hernia problem and what is actually the bigest problem, is not too big (muscles can be pushed back). Of course, if damage is too big, hernia requires surgery, and in that case, natural healing also helps that person recoveres more quickly. Unfortunatelly so many people have no money for surgery.

Broken bones? If they did not separate, or if they are not crashed, they can be adequately immobilized and more quickly healed with additional help of natural methods, bones are alive and renew all the time.

BTW, my Mum broke leg bone, she did not even visit the Dr (she made bandage, took leave from work (not sick leave) and month later she was OK. Later on she took X ray and Dr said that leg was perfect, better then leg would recover with hospital and gypsum.

Few years later she broke spine, at that time she was 57 (accidentally, there was deep hole on the road, that was not protected, she did not expect it, did not look and accident happened). She was transported urgently to the hospital, but they took X ray too high, so it did not show the place where spine was broken, so they send her home. She used just bandage around her waist and gradually recovered in few months (she did not want to go to the hospital) and about year later checked situation with X ray and Dr. was shocked when he discovered that her spine was actually broken a year ago and that she healed it without any medical help (but mind though, her vertebraes did not move out of position - it seemed that spine was, luckily, only partially broken,) He congratulated her on success and also mentioned that she did that better on her own that they would do it in hospital (in hospital she would be completely immobilized, so she would not recover so successfully, because body needs to move in order to activate full recovery) But - for such self treatmant, one needs to know her/his own body extremely well, and be very careful not to make wrong movements and make things worse - plus body requires a lot of minerals, vitamins and healthy hormonal levels.

This is certainly special story, I would not recommend that to the other people (neither I recommended that to my Mum, but could not force her to go to hospital) - so in such cases combination of conventional methods and natural methods work the best.

The problem between - conventional medicine and natural medicines arises if conventional prescribes drugs and treatmants on regular basis that cause more harm then original disease, then natural medicine cannot help a lot. Many people ask for natural treatmant when conventional medicine did all possible harm to them, in many years of giving them poisons: there are cases when is too late to do much.

I am so glad that your mole disappeared - I already mentioned that in my previous Hub when you commented it (I answered 2 days later), and I don`t have any doubt that your health will be great!

So glad to see you here, take care.

I have Diabete II. Insulin is the best control I know, better than any drug combination. Exercise and diet are the other parts of the control equation. Keep you blood sugar between 90 and 120 and you can live as normal a life as those without the disease. I've lived with it for 30 years...sorry, it never goes away completely. Funny, years back I wrote an educational film script titled "Diabetes - You Can Live With It". I seem to have proved the validity of those long ago words. David Russell

A great hub and thank you for sharing.

My partner Dai has stage 2 diabetes so any info on the subject is very useful.

It didn't come as a surprise to him because both his parents had it and his only sister.

I'm giving this one useful/up and bookmarking.

      Take care,

This is very interesting, my dad had diabetes and I being terrified of needles was the one who had to give him his shots. Two things I would like to mention that came to mind while reading was goldenseal in danger of becoming extinct and also a possible negative which at this moment I cannot recall but I have some I have never taken because of it and also I had to be careful not to give my mother any vit-K which may have been because of blood thinner she was on but whatever the reason there are many things a pharmacist can tell you where you get any prescriptions if it would be OK and naturally this is one place I don't think doctors want us going so they probably aren't the ones to ask, unless they are into holistic too, I have heard a few are now. Great hub and amount of information, I really am into herbs and anything I can try rather than chemical prescriptions.

      Dear Mary,

I am OK, thank you, I had allowed myself to take some rest from publishing articles (although I half-prepared several of them, but did not have energy to finish them), because some other things kept me "busy"and a little bit exhausted, but this is life, now is everything OK again.

Organic milk is OK, but the one we buy in the shops - it is not.

Yep - when we need to look at the price of food we buy, it is not easy to eat healthy, I know exactly what you mean.

Too many people have to make savings on quality of food they eat, what is wrong choice in the long term and this is what makes me sad. If the all food in the shops would be healthy, we would not need to eat poisonous garbage.

A lots of love and hugs

Hiya T, So how the hell are ya? Been a long time. I'm still in New Jersey freezing my buns off. I'll be headed back to Florida before long. As usual, you outdid yourself with this hub. I just copied it and I'm going to give it to my neighbor who has diabeties. I lost my dad and my brother to diabeties. One thing I would suggest to insulin users. My brother lived with it for 35 years for one reason only: He learned more about the disease than his doctors knew and was able to control it and keep fit the whole time combined with his doctors care. A, but it definatly kept him alive a lot longer than my dad simply because no one knew much about the disease back then.Everytime I read one of your hubs I can't believe you know as much as you do about the subject. Any subject from black holes to poison arrow frogs.Even if I did know everything you mentioned in this hub alone,it would take me 6 months to prepair it for publishing.Do you ever see a doctor at all. Over the years reading your stuff I've always wondered what you would do for a hernia where the muscle can't grow back together because of the inside pressure preventing closure then healing.Or say a broken bone. I don't see how things like that can be cured by your methods unless you resort to conventional treatments in those cases. Do you?

This year I had what they call a "skin tag" (elongated mole) right under my eye that grew quickly to about a good half inch. It was ugly and bothersome so I asked myself (not liking doctors one bit), what would Tatjana do? I bought a 35 dollar bottle of really bad smelling herbal healing oil online that I applied 3 times daily and I'll be damned in 3 months, it was totally gone. Not even a spot where it was. Amazing!

I haven't been to a doctor in 50 years for anything I didn't cause myself but that won't last forever so next time, you got a new patient.Your cuter than most doctors over here anyway.

Hows the paradise island coming along?

Catch ya on the flip side...

The spectrum of this hub is huge. Your emphasis on how the body cannot deal with calories and sugar when it needs to is outstanding. It is obvious that you have done a lot of homework and study, and I commend you. This is a wonderful overview of the subject.

Good to see you again, Tatjana! Missed your hubs and presence. How have you been doing?

The article was very informative! Phil and I do not use regular sugar anymore to sweeten our beverages, we buy Stevia which is more expensive, but as you pointed healthy, so its a good investement. I drink milk, not much, but do have a cup before going to sleep with some stevia; not that I wasn't aware of the hormones but now that you reminded me how unbalancing it can be, perhaps organic milk would be better? I can easily make another change in my diet.

      Voted up!
