FLIP OF THE COIN

Which way to go

A decision to make

One that isn’t so easy

My life it may take

I’ve put in my time

God knows I have tried

So many tears

Witnessed, and cried

Should I play out my hand

Taking the ultimate chance

How can I do anything else

But finish this dance

Never one to doubt God

He knows what is best

There is trouble, big trouble

Right here in my chest

You say you would miss me

I’d miss me too

I don’t know that I’m ready

For the drop of the other shoe

Play it safe and spend remaining time

Being nursed and watched over

Think I’d rather just go

And start pushing up clover

I’ve done it their way

And I’ve done it mine

Just have to figure

Is this really my time

I’ve loved and I’ve lived

On terms I made mine

I gave and I’ve taken

Didn’t seem like too much

Now I’m left to ponder

to stay or to join

Guess I’ll leave it all up to Him

And the flip of a coin
