what crystals should not be cleansed by placement on another crystal
i'm not aware of any stones that don't benefit from a good cleansing every once in a while. though different methods suit different stones. selenite cleanses all stones, but i have heard that a very few people prefer to use alternatives to selenite because they feel that it cleanses them "too much" but i think thats a little silly myself.
you can also hold your stones under tepid running water, or even better a running stream or the ocean. just make sure to hold on tight!
there are stones that don't need to be cleansed. kyanite doesn't need energetic cleansing and neither does natural citrine. though i'm sure they wouldn't mind it, as in there would be no negative effects, it just isn't necessary. i hope i have answered to your satisfaction.
