The South Beach Diet is a diet that is composed of three phases, with tapering degree of difficulty. Phase I detoxes your body from sugar and carbs. It is extremely restrictive- no bread, no fruit, only specific meats and skim dairies. Phase II allows you to reincorporate whole wheat and fruits in specific quantities, but still allows you to lose weight. Phase III is the maintenance stage, where you stay to maintain the weight you lose in the first two phases. There are several online recipe resources, cookbooks, and support forums. I recommend the diet if you are looking to lose weight relatively quickly.
