Abstract or Concrete?
What are the distinctions between the abstract and the concrete? I am not referring to abstract art and concrete buildings.
Do you enjoy abstract thought and having a dialog along philosophical lines? Why or why not? Are you more comfortable with concrete subjects and approaches? Any idea why?
Longer answers and hubs as answers are great. Write what you feel, there are no social rules from the asker. I like a range of responses from many angles, and experimental writing (that is, stretching the boundaries.)
I am using my logical mind but the concrete can relate to the 'norm', the 'safe', that which we know. Taking the field of art, abstracts can be very beautiful. Indeed there are those who go for the creative, the innovative, the unthinkable. So abstract is essentially useful.
I for one, accepts the law of polarity or diversity or opposites. In which case concrete also has its value. We measure one by the success of the other. Abstract or concrete? I enjoy both.
FIRST ABSTRACT-THEN CONCRETE-FIRST SEED-THEN TREE-FIRST INVISIBLE-FROM WHERE YOU COME-THEN VISIBLE-WHERE YOU LIVE-FIRST UNMANIFESTED-THEN MANIFESTED-FIRST IDEAS-THEN INVENTIONS-FIRST-I WISH THIS OR THAT-THEN-I HAVE THIS OR THAT-AND-FIRST GOD-THEN MAN
