What do you think borderline personality disorder means?

Without googling it, what do you think borderline personality is simply by hearing the name? (no judgement)

Borderline Personality disorder, in my mind, is when a person developes multiple personalities to fit different situations. For example, a child growing up with divorced parents lives with their mother during the week, and stays with their father on the weekend. The child starts to develope one personality that consists of characteristics that only show when they're at home with their mother, and a separate personality with characteristics that are only shown when in the father's company.

Good guess, Cheyenne! That's why they want to change the name of the disorder to "emotional instability disorder" because it makes people think of dissociative identity disorder (formerly multiple personality disorder)
      BPD is about intense emotions
