Are there legitimate health reasons for fitting braces to justify spending $7,400 orthodontist fee?

Is it just for cosmetic reasons or are there legitimate health reasons for fitting braces to your child to justify spending $7,400 luxury fee to your orthodontist?

As far as I know, they are just for aesthetics. Unless your teeth protrude too much and it gets difficult to close your mouth, in which case you could have jaw issues. Gaps between teeth can also be resolved to an extent using braces. This prevents food getting stuck between teeth which can be kind of hard to get out, if you're too sensitive to floss.
