Power Journaling – Enhance your Life!

Journaling is an effective tool to help you understand your current life situation and figure out where you are headed. This powerful medium can help you tap into yourself and get clear about your goals and desires. You get a fresh perspective into your own life when you write it all out.

Throughout the day, your mind absorbs several things. Thoughts, ideas, feelings clog the brain. At any point of time, you can find the mind swinging between the past and the future. Often this is the chief cause of stress and other negative emotions.

Journaling as part of your every day routine can make you very productive. It lowers your stress and makes you feel more confident and levelheaded. Writing down your thoughts, feelings and problems enables your brain to process everything in a more structured manner. Your scattered state of mind becomes reflective and is better able to manage life.

Some benefits of journaling:

Brings clarity

Writing can really open your eyes and give you a better view of your life. If you would have been just thinking, one thought would have led to another and very soon, you would have been entangled in a maze of thoughts. Journaling helps you become clear about what is going on in your mind and helps bring focus.

Problem solving

It helps to identify your problem areas in the first step. Take out whatever is there in your mind. You will be surprised at how liberating it is to write down all your problems, and how fresh and rejuvenated you feel after that. Once your problems are out there in front of you, you no longer feel helpless and instead start to frame a plan of action to take care of the same.

Planning ahead

In terms of goal setting and planning, journaling can be an extremely helpful tool. It is a great way to take stock of your life and plot ahead. Your goals and dreams would not seem so overwhelming and daunting if you just write in detail your plans for achieving the same.

Healing process

It offers an excellent avenue to release all the bottled stress and focus only on the positive. It also makes you reflect on where you went wrong in the past and get a better perspective of things. Writing is like talking to your best friend or psychologist about your problems. When we articulate our thoughts and emotions, healing happens. Journaling helps strengthen your connection with your inner self.

Self-development begins with developing a better understanding of who you are, what you want in life, and why you do the things that you do. Introspection best happens while journaling. Studies have shown that people who engage in regular journaling have become more self-aware. It comes as a natural effect of connecting the eye, the mind, the heart and the hand in one unified action, which is what happens in journaling. This is one tool that gets talked about the least, but can really have the most profound effect on your life.
