Why You Should Try Zumba®

What is Zumba?

It's also a lot of fun!

I'm fortunate that my employer offers a full gym membership with free fitness classes including Zumba, yoga, pilates, and spinning. So, this semester I decided to give Zumba a try. It has been three weeks and I am totally hooked. It's an incredible workout for cardio, arms, legs, and core. Best of all, it's good for the soul!

My First Zumba Class

The first time I took a Zumba fitness class, I thought, 'Why are the lights on and why don't I have a drink in my hand?'. I've been a mom for almost ten years, so it's been a long time since I've been to a dance club.

I was slightly nervous to attend my second class. The choreographic dance moves were difficult sometimes the first time around and I didn't want to look silly in front of my colleagues.

My Third Zumba Class

I actually started to remember the choreographed dance sequences. This is when it started to get addicting. After my third class, I couldn't stop smiling. It's happily infectious and you work up a great sweat while doing it.
