SIMPLIFIED VERSION OF YOGA - MIRACLES OF YOGA
Yoga is an ancient art form that existed in India long time before we started counting the age of human life time. The word ‘Yoga’ means ‘To Unite.’ Thus, Yoga unites the physical, mental, and spiritual components in a human being with the cosmos. It is an exquisite blend of knowledge and technicality. Yoga science was first codified by Pathanjali, who was known as the Einstein among the Buddhist monks. His writings are considered as the magisterial script of Yoga.
For many years, human beings have been practising yoga. It is more advisable to introduce yoga training to children from their early ages. Thus, we can gift them with a very good start in their life.
Even if yoga practice gives numerous benefits, it most importantly concentrates in developing a peaceful happy mind along with developing a healthy, strong, and beautiful body. Yoga increases concentration and makes children studious. Yoga training helps to create cultural and creative abilities in us. Scientifically, yoga makes our mind strong.
PREPARATION BEFORE STARTING:
- Select a separate airy room away from disturbances. Switch off television, radio, etc. in that room.
- Yoga should be practised at least 3-4 hours after food consumption.
- Wear loose and comfortable clothes only for practising yoga.
- At first, practice for 15 minutes and then gradually increase to 30 minutes a day.
IMPORTANT ASANAS IN YOGA:
Asana is a Sanskrit word, which means ‘Sitting Position.’ These are positions are made in such a manner that it gives flexibility and vitality to the practitioner. It also restores and maintains the well-being of the practitioner. 'Asana' (sitting down) 'Pranayamas' (breath control) in yoga are the scientific techniques to keep our body and mind healthy without any diseases. Even if there are many types of workouts and acrobatic exercises in this modern world to develop our muscles, there is no exercise in this world, which can keep our body and mind equally healthy. The yoga sitting postures concentrates on our spinal cord healthy. By making our spinal cord strong and flexible, we can increase blood circulation in our body and thereby, increase the transportation of oxygen and other components to the nerves easily.
In Yoga, we will be practicing 'Yoga Asana Pranayamas' or sitting postures with breath control along with meditation or mental concentration and long respiration. An actual schedule of Yoga includes:
- One hour long Sitting Postures.
- One hour Rest.
- One hour Meditation.
We can't see any other procedure that much effective to totally reconstruct human body than in Yoga. Yoga is the only practically applicable exercise that anybody can practice irrespective of age or gender. Yoga makes our body and soul spiritually and mentally strong.
WHO CAN DO YOGA?
Science accredits Yoga as branch, which gives positive results to those who practice Yoga. In Yoga manuscript, it is said that any youth, oldster, strength-less, or diseased can gain their health back by doing Yoga.
In Hindu mythology, it is said that 84 Lakhs of Yoga Sitting Postures are at first taught by the almighty Lord Siva to Goddess Parvathy who is his wife. So Goddess Parvathy is said to be the “Mother of Yoga” and without any dilemma, it is clear that any female can do Yoga.
Yoga is obviously the most appropriate exercise program for females as it provides them with a permanent solution to their own bodily issues. Poise, structure, beauty, health, attractiveness, self respect, and self confidence are the obvious promises of Yoga.
YOGA FOR CHILDREN:
Practicing Yoga from childhood will give a great basement for the children in their life. When compared to grownups, children can easily perform Yoga due to their flexibility. Meditation has got great impact in grooming children. Practicing meditation will increase their concentration and confidence. Children can start Yoga at any age. It is more advisable to start Yoga at this age of 6 or 7 as it requires sometimes for gaining concentration for children.
THINGS TO REMEMBER WHILE DOING YOGA
• Place a mat or cotton sheet on the floor and perform Yoga facing eastwards.
• Morning is appropriate time for practicing Yoga.
• We can choose a windy and lighten room or terrace or any open calm place to do Yoga.
• Don’t use watch or spectacles while practicing Yoga.
• Start the proceedings with a prayer of your own choice. Then do 2 minutes of meditation to remove all tenseness in your mind and be calm. Then start with ‘Shavasana’ or ‘Dead body Posture,’ which will help to release all your tension and after that begin to practice other postures slowly.
• Those who had undergone surgery or having some diseases should strictly get their physician’s advice before doing Yoga practice.
• Females during their menses periods and beginning stages of pregnancy should never practice Yoga.
• While doing Yoga, you should fully concentrate on it only.
• Practice Yoga only 2 hours after taking your food.
• Use only loose clothes while practicing Yoga.
Yoga exercise is without any doubt a necessity to our body like food. Spare one hour everyday for doing Yoga and find out the gains made by body and mind yourself. There is no other exercise like Yoga that can enable our body and mind to outrun the pressure situations in our modern fast and busy lifestyle.
