New Year Resolution's 2013

Updated on July 29, 2012

New Year's Resolution

With 2012 ending and assuming the world is still here for 2013 to ring in. A lot of us are thinking of what our New Year's resolution we should make to better ourselves. Maybe your thinking about getting rid of some old habits like quitting smoking, drinking, gambling or maybe you want to shed a few pounds by giving up on eating out and eating junk food.

Whatever you New Year's resolution is make sure it's something that you want to do in order to achieve it. Don't make a resolution on what other people think or feel you should do because then your setting yourself up for failure and you wouldn't be successful at it.

The majority of people that set a New Year's resolution fail within either the first week or the first month because they make a resolution based on other's opinions and they fail also because they jump right into it. You need to set goals for yourself and every time you meet that goal reward yourself but when you reward yourself don't use the old habit. Come up with a plan or away to be successful with your resolution for example if your a smoker and you want to quit talk to your Doctor about way's of taking away urges and craving's, maybe he/she can prescribe Chantix to help you.

If your a drinker and you want to quit and you break your resolution after midnight do to the holiday take baby steps like if you use to drink and drive make a resolution that for a now on you'll find a designated driver, by doing this your saving lives and that's a very big step towards quiting and we all thank you for thinking of us as well as our loved one's and yours.

If your resolution is to lose weight by cutting out fast food and all other junk food's maybe you and a friend can join a gym and set a plan on going certain day's of the week and a time, so this becomes routine for you, come up with better eating habits, see my article on hub pages about weight loss and how I lost over 50 lbs.

Whatever your New Year's resolution is try to be successful at it by making a small one, don't set your goals to high where you can't obtain them. In other words don't start your New Year's out with failure, start it out with success and your future resolution's with higher standards will be easier met.

Have A Happy And Safe New Year!!!!!!

Thats part of the reason I do not make them anymore. From person addiction to smoking, even the patches did nothing but cause skin irritation.

I agree. Don't set the bar higher than you can accomplish. If you do, you could possibly fail. Have a Great New Year and may all your wishes come true.
