5 Wacky Holidays in November that are Now on My Calendar

Updated on June 9, 2015

There are fewer holidays posted for November than October, maybe by December I will have just one.

I doubt it. But it still felt good to type out. All though I tried to restrict myself to just five this time. There were much more that I could have fun with but didn't.

As you go through these please understand that I don't usually ramble on like I am doing right now. I saw this as a way to have fun with the holidays. And tried to restrict myself. Believe it or not I thought of just doing one day. And that was November 30th. But there were some others that also needed mentioning. And then doing them in order also seamed the right thing to do.

So what I will do is go through and share my opinion on these days and a bit of a description for each one. Please go forth and read. May the smiles be with you.

November 3

Book Lovers Day

When it comes to books I would ranter have one in my hands. (Sorry e-books its just not the same.) I am not saying that I don't have e-books but the hands on approach is just not the same.

With that said I would also prefer hard cover to paper back.

One other thing when it comes to the book covers make sure they stay on the books. Do not remove them and recycle them. Look mom I am voicing my opinion.

Also the image shown is from the most read book by me and of all time.

November 4 - King Tut Day

There is so much I could say on this one but in this case I will leave it up to Steve Martin.

Please enjoy.

RAOK - Random Acts of Kindness

When was the last time you did something to help another person? For no other reason than you just happened to be there?

Someone was short a little change at the store...

Someone needed help on the the side of the road and no one was pulling over to help them...

You were trying to find directions and someone just happened to be there and new exactly how to help you get where you needed to be...

Or even something as simple as them, "Do you know where the bathroom is?"

All these are ways people can show kindness and not even realize it.

There is a radio station known as KLOVE that has a theme known as "Make a Difference Monday". Its to encourage their listeners to get out there and make a difference and help others. Make a difference in the life on someone. It could be someone you know or a compete stranger.

November 14 - World Kindness day - John Lennon - Give Peace A Chance

November 14 - World Kindness Day - Alabama - Angels Among Us

The music was there now add it to your collection.

November 23

National Cashew Day

Most people I know say that I am nuts. With a day like this they might just be correct. OK they are right but I have paperwork that proves otherwise.

When it comes to nuts there are several out there but Cashews are my favorite. In fact the picture that's shown here did not last more than a couple of days in our house. I was not the only one but I did demolish most of them.

November 30

Stay at Home Because You are Well Day

WARNING clear this with your boss first! When trying to take an unscheduled day off the boss wants to know why. Usually the most common answer is I am not feeling well. Or I am on my way to the doctors / hospital right now. Also know that sometimes the boss will like a doctors note. This is usually the best way to avoid work but the opposite of saying I am healthy and just don't want to be there is usually frowned upon.

I am thinking of talking to my boss about this later today and will be posting the results when I get home. With any luck it will not be a permanent vacation.

Its the next day and I did ask the boss. After laughing out loud he went back to a straight face and said "No".

Finally if this doesn't work look a little further down and check out the video to see how Patty took off a day from work.

Dear Boss aka the Sick Note

Dear Boss first verse

Dear Boss, I write this note to you to tell you of my plight

And at the time of writing I am not a pretty sight;

My body is all black and blue, my face a deadly grey.

And I hope you'll understand why Paddy's not at work today.

You have read my wacky words now its your turn - Leave a wacky comment or two.
