The Independence Day of INDIA - 15th August

India celebrating the 65th Independence day on 15th august. August 15, 1947 is the unforgettable day of every Indian because on this day the country is free from the British. Mahatma Gandhi, Father of nation is the main reason for getting the independence. Jawaharlal Nehru is also one of the greatest freedom fighter of India. Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and many other important leaders took very important steps for getting the independence for the country. These famous freedom fighters will not vanish from the hearts of any Indian people. Today India shines in almost every fields especially in sports. This year also Indians shined in several events of the London Olympics and they made the country proud. Today India has one of the best cricket team and is ranked second in the world.

Every states of India celebrate the Independence day in an auspicious way. In India every schools celebrate the Independence day in a very joyous way. Independence day is a day which gives more happiness to the children. The children are given sweets and also they are given Indian flag badges. In every schools the children are lined up in the school ground and the celebrations start. In most of the schools at the independence day there will a chief guest and the chief guest will hoist the 3 colored flag of India. saffron , white and green are the three colors of Indian flag and has an Asoka Chakra in the middle. When the flag is hoisting the national anthem of the country will be sung. After that the chief guest will speech about the independence day. In the schools march past will be conducted by the students and they salute the flag and honorable chief guest while marching. In this day the children's will be reminded the famous leaders who helped in getting freedom for India Then the children will sing various patriotic songs and celebrate.

Every institutions celebrate the Indian Independence day in a auspicious way. In Red Fort, New Delhi the President of India will addresses the Indian nation and then the Indian prime minister will hoist the Indian flag and gives a speech for all the Indians. Also various other programmes will be conducted by the air force, army and navy. Various patriotic songs can be heard on the independence day of India. After the celebrations the people will enjoy the day happily with their family. The people of India will wish all their friends and family friends a happy independence day.

      I feel slightly connected to you because my Father was in the British Army during the 1930's and was sent the too India. I know that was a life time ago and he loved there.
