Best Christmas gifts for children that love horses
Great gift ideas for different budgets
Being a horse lover myself, I surely had my good share of horse related gifts every Christmas during my childhood. My favorites between the age of 6 and 8 were "My little ponies". I used to collect them so every Christmas I was eagerly waiting for the new arrival.
Then around 11-12 I upgraded to Barbie horses. These were way more realistic and less childish. They were magnificent and I loved-to saddle them up and make my Barbie ride them.
Nowadays, with the great advances of technology horse gifts have surely been kicked up a notch. The new Fur Real pony "Butterscotch" surely still amazes me. With a price tag of over 200 dollars though I am not sure with our financial crisis if any mom or dad can afford it. Still, this gift in my opinion, can be the closest you can get to the real thing. Well, to start this horse has sensors throughout all its body so it actually "senses" if you are talking to it or handing it a carrot.
It also has a fear of the dark so children will need to reassure him when he gets startled. The only problem of this horse is that it cannot walk, however, children can still ride him and he may move a bit for the child's contentment.
These toys are surely amazing. However, for those that cannot afford a fortune, there are still lots of options. The old traditional plastic horses are still a great gift and after all that is how we childhood horse lovers grew up. I am sure that any child that loves horses the way I used to will be happy with old Barbie style horses. Nowadays there are also many accessories to complement them like stables, saddles and halters.
For the smaller children plush horses make great gifts as the child can snuggle with them to bed. I had my friend unicorn sleep with me every night. For those Monopoly fanatics that love horses as well, there is a new horse themed monopoly.
Horse lovers kids simply love horses. Do not worry if you cannot afford the expensive toys, as long as it has four legs, a mane and a tail, most horse lovers will love the gift!
