Happy Flowers on a Happy Day

Flower Diaries - Easter Sunday, and a Day of Remembrance

Today was a very special day, mixed with many emotions. You see a year ago my father passed away, and I miss him terribly. We buried him right before Easter.

Despite all that goes with that, and my sister and I doing some reminiscing, I forced myself to have a great day, and we did. My family went to my Mom and stepdad's house, and they are our only family here. They live in Missouri, and somewhat out in the country.

I couldn't help but notice the purple wildflowers blooming in the woods, upon entering the house and looking outside. Later on, when we took a walk, I was so happy I had my camera in the car which I went and retrieved. What you see here is what I captured from what was in bloom, this Easter. A year after my father passed away. He is one of the people that taught me to love flowers and nature so much. This is for him, as it made it all a joy to look back over my life and reflect a little.

Consider it just a gallery of flowers to enjoy perhaps, and maybe see a new flower or two. Included are naturally growing wildflowers, perennials, and some colorful annuals as well. Make sure to click on the little photo squares, or thumbnails to see the pictures bigger. I put the names of the flowers I know, right under my photos of the flowers. They include, but are not limited to purple ageratum, white, purple, and magenta petunias, yellow marigolds, coral columbines, purple phlox, purple vincas and more.

I hope you enjoy, and I hope you had a great Easter Sunday, or a great weekend if you don't celebrate Easter.

I miss you Dad, and will look forward to seeing you again one day.
