Best Halloween Costume on a Budget 2012

If you plan on trick-or-treating, going to a Halloween party, or simply answering the door to give out candy, then being a Zombie is a great cheap Halloween costume on a budget. The best thing about the zombie costume is that it is fun, simple, and easy, and just depends on your level of creativity, and how much money you want to spend. For kids or adults, teens or college coeds, cheap zombie halloween costumes are the best choice this year!

Zombies are very popular from movies (like Resident Evil!) and video games (like Zombie Assault or Plants vs. Zombies), so everyone knows the undead when they see them, and every one knows how to act like a zombie. And the best part about being a zombie is that you get to act really weird, walk strange, and be really hungry at the time! (Does that sound familiar?)

So you really have two choices for this Halloween season-- you can either buy a Zombie costume for kids or adults, or you can make your own zombie costume.

If you decide to buy a basic zombie Halloween costume, then expect to pay somewhere between $20 to $50 and up. If this is a rugged well-made costume and you plan on wearing it again in the future, get a better more durable one so that it holds together. Many people buy Halloween costumes for a single use, so many are clearly made that way. The only probably is that they often don't always last all Halloween night. You don't need a zombie costume to fail at 9:45pm on a busy holiday night! You might also consider a used zombie costume.

How can you make a cheap zombie Halloween costume? Just convert any uniform, outfit, or specific clothing to zombie with good strategic face and hand makeup! You could be a zombie football player, zombie ballerina, zombie karate expert, zombie hello kitty, or whatever. You can be a zombie nurse, zombie doctor, zombie rock star, zombie cheerleader, and more. Your creativity is really your guide here. Just take an identifiable look and then morph it into a zombie. You can even take old clothing and rip and shred the edges a bit to make a zombie look of a regular guy or girl.

For the makeup, you can really use whatever you have. Circles around the eyes in black (makeup or burnt cork), lipstick lines as face and hand scratches, and more. If you have white or gray face paint you can make your entire face look undead. For the really great zombie look, watch this fantastic advanced zombie makeup video below.

Get your zombie on, and Happy Halloween.
