Christmas - Celebrations of india

Just like other countries in India Christmas is also celebrated in an auspicious manner in India. In India there are only few percent of Christian people still the country enjoys this festival in a very joyful manner. During Christmas season the children will have vacation time and they enjoys this festival very happily. The celebrations starts before 1 week from the Christmas day. Various religious schools arrange variety of programs during these days. Non religious schools also conduct various programs on this day. Mainly children are the participants for the programs. children dress as angels and perform on the stage.

In India during the Christmas days we can see various Christmas cribs on every streets and houses.Every house will be decorated with colorful lights, balloons, festoons etc. People buy Christmas tress and place them in front of their houses during these days. Christmas tress will also be decorated with colorful lights and small stars. In the streets we can see various images of Santa clause during these days. Jesus Christ was laid in a manger after the birth. For this memory people make beautiful cribs decorated with lights. In the cribs people place the figures of baby Jesus Christ, angels, mother Mary and father Joseph. People place dry grass and make a beautiful Christmas crib.

On the day before Christmas people attend the churches in the midnight to attend the Holy Midnight Mass ceremony. Christmas carol is another joyous moment during the Christmas season. Like in other countries in India also people dress as Santa Clause and reaches every houses and give variety of gifts to the people. In the Christmas carol people sings various songs of Christmas. Every house will be decorated with stars during the Christmas. Most of the celebrations of Christmas occur in the evening or night. In the Christmas morning Christian devotees attend the church and pray. Elder people and children will be dressed in new clothes on this day. On the Christmas day people make delicious Christmas cakes for their family. Many other sweets and cookies will also be prepared on this day. For lunch and Dinner people make delicious foods. Mainly non vegetarian foods are used on the Christmas day. Various recipes are made using chicken, mutton, beef, turkey etc. People wishes other family members by sending Christmas greeting cards. Every people celebrates Christmas happily spending with their family.
