Christmas is a time of year that most everyone is celebrating; whether they are celebrating Christmas, Honika, or others, this time of year seems to bring people together in the spirit of sharing and caring.
There are many ways to celebrate this holiday season. If you live in or near Jefferson City, Missouri there are several activities to attend.
For the family with young children it is of course always fun to visit Downtown Jefferson City for their annual Christmas Parade. This year it is being held on Saturday, December 4th at 4:30pm.
You can also join the mayor on Thursday, December 2 at 6 p.m. in for the 3rd annual Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting. The event takes place at Rotary Park on Bolivar Street and offers entertainment, refreshments, and a visit from Santa Claus.
The Mayor also offers Candlelight Tour each Holiday Season the Governor’s Mansion. The Mansion is beautifully decorated during this season and many enjoy visiting during the holiday season. Tours are free and open to the public, for tour schedules you can go to the link at the bottom of this hub.
Living Windows takes place in Downtown Jefferson City and has been a tradition for almost 20 years now. On Friday, December 3 from 6-9 p.m the Downtown Storefronts and windows come alive with dancers, singers, religious and holiday themes. They offer hayrides that wind their way through the streets of Downtown Jefferson City. You can enjoy refreshments, listen to carolers and watch performances by Jefferson City Dance Academy. Admission is free and you can end the night by visiting Santa Claus who will be at Hawthorne Bank.
