Easy Halloween Costume Ideas
Halloween costumes are often expensive to buy and many homemade costume ideas require a lot of time, patience and supplies. If you want to dress up in a Halloween costume, but don’t want to spend hours making one, try one of these easy to make Halloween costumes.

If you don’t want to use your own clothes to make these costumes, your local thrift store may have what you need for only a few dollars.
Mummy Halloween Costume
Rip an old white sheet into strips about 5 inches wide. Wear a white shirt and white or khaki pants. Safety pin the end of a strip to your clothing and wrap it around yourself. Use a safety pin to hold the other end of the strip in place. Continue wrapping yourself in strips of fabric until you are covered. Adjust the strips so that you can move your arms and legs freely and pin them in place if necessary. You don’t have to worry about being neat because strips of fabric hanging off will only make this Halloween costume spookier.
Hobo Halloween Costume
Cut off the bottoms of an old pair of sweatpants and wear a ratty shirt. Rub dirt or brown face paint onto your clothes and skin. Wrap a piece of square cloth around some rags and tie it in the center. Tie this bundle onto a stick with some rope.
Cell Phone Halloween Costume
Wear a black shirt and pants. Paint numbers and buttons onto your shirt with glow in the dark paint. Untwist an old wire coat hanger. Wrap one end of the coat hanger around a black hat and safety pin it in place. Straighten the other end until it stand straight up. Put a Styrofoam ball painted black on the end of the coat hanger. Put the hat on so that the coat hanger stands straight up like an antennae to finish this Halloween costume.
Murder Victim Halloween Costume
Tear and rub dirt into some old clothes so they look very ragged. Put them on, mess up your hair and smear fake blood all over yourself. Choose a murder weapon and attach it to yourself, adding plenty of fake blood. Some ideas are a knife, rope or an arrow. Just for fun you could use all three!
Gift Box
Cut the flaps off the bottom of a cardboard box and tape the flaps closed on the top. Cut a hole in the top for your head and holes in the sides for your arms. Wrap the box in wrapping paper and glue ribbon to it. Tie a large bow on top of your head with the ribbon. Wear clothes that match the wrapping paper. Cut a gift tag out of heavy paper or cardboard and attach it to the box. You could write something on the gift tag like “God’s Gift to Women (or Men)” to make this halloween costume idea even more fun.
