Favorite Classic Christmas Commercials
I find most commercials annoying and I tune them out, but some of the older ones stick in my head. One of the first signs of Christmas when I was a kid was Santa riding the Norelco razor. (Even our name says Merry Christmas). Another favorite was the Coke singers on the hilltop.
These are some other sentimental favorites that are as much a part of Christmas as candy canes and snow globes. I hope you enjoy them.
1970's Norelco ad
Coke still replays their "I'd like to teach the world to sing" advertisement but they have also added a good new one. I love the music in this one, definitely a new Christmas classic. Which isn't too surprising, Coke has had wonderful Christmas advertising for decades, including new ones with the Polar Bears.
POLAR BEARS AND PENGUINS
This Folgers one makes me cry every time. I don't know why, Peter was just away at school, he probably came home for Thanksgiving! But, it still gets to me. Although I wonder, did the parents think the little girl made the coffee?
FOLGERS PETER COMES HOME
These Hallmark ones aren't rerun very often. Both deal with being home for the holidays, one person makes it and the other doesn't. Both of the ads make me cry, I may be too sentimental, but I enjoy Hallmark's commercials every year, along with their specials.
TOM'S COMING HOME
WALKING UP THE HILL ON CHRISTMAS EVE
A couple of classic Christmas candy commercials. The Hershey kisses one is replayed a lot. It is a simple ad but very cute.
Here are a last couple of favorites. The McDonald's one is rarely seen anymore, but the one from Folgers is still re-broadcast once in awhile.
