I'm going to start with the men in your life because they seem to be the hardest to shop for. Men include anyone from grandpas, fathers, uncles, brothers, boyfriends, and husbands. I spend the most time on this category because the men in my life are especially difficult to shop for because they are so unique...and picky. I really try to avoid buying clothes for men unless I know their sizes exactly.

Cologne is always a good idea. Think about the personality of the man you are buying the cologne for and try to match it to the scent. Most men colognes are strong and have a really dominant scent. I find it really appealing when a man wears a nice smelling cologne, I really think it makes him more attractive.

Men love technology so gadgets are always a good idea. I recently bought my father a Kindle Fire which he really enjoyed and I think it was by far the best gift I have given him. My dad's a big reader so the Kindle Fire was especially fitting because you can read books but also use apps and surf the web since it works like a tablet as well.

I love buying personalized items because they're tailored to each person exactly. For men, I like to buy personalized pens or Swiss army knives. I buy a lot of personalized items from Things Remembered. I love their selection and how quickly they make and ship the items.

If the man in your life is a reader but prefers to have actual books rather than reading digitally, you can always check out the bestsellers and find a few good books for his gift. Books are a great gift that equal hours of entertainment, especially in this cold weather where you can cozy up by the fireplace and spend the day reading.

Men love movies so find out which types he likes and get him some of those. If he likes a particular show get him the entire series on DVD. Some examples of men favorites are The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, American Horror Story, and Sons of Anarchy.

If he's a man who wears a suit and tie to work, get him some fancy ties. Although ties are technically a type of clothing, I prefer to think of them as accessories. One size fits all and you can't really go wrong here.

If you're really short on time you can always pick up a few gift cards to his favorite stores and restaurants. Everyone appreciates a good meal and a free shopping trip. There's also gift cards for Netflix and movies theaters so those are good ideas as well.

The trick to finding a good gift for the man in your life is to spend some time with them and discover their personality and their specific likes and dislikes. Remember that it's not about the amount of money that you spend on the gift that matters, it's all about the time and effort you put into it because when we put time and effort into something, we are putting a piece of our life into it and that matters more than anything money can buy.

I personally love shopping for the women in my life because there are so many more options to choose from. Some women in your life might include grandmas, aunts, mothers, sisters, and girlfriends.

Perfume is a great choice for women. There's so many different fragrances out there that you can choose from. Just remember that some fragrances are tailored towards younger women and some are for older women. An example of a fragrance for an older woman would be Chanel #5. This is usually the case, but just remember to first find out something about the person so their personality is compatible with the fragrance. Someone who is shy and soft spoken is better off with a lighter floral scent than something stronger like Prada Candy. Here are some of my favorite perfumes: Dolce & Gabbana: The One, Juicy Couture, Britney Spears, and Taylor Swift fragrances.

Candles are another great gift idea for any woman in your life. Everyone loves scented candles. Some of my favorite places to buy candles are from Bath & Body Works and Yankee Candle.

Jewelry is always a good idea for a woman, whether it's earrings, necklaces, or rings. Just find out what is within your budget and her taste and you're set. Some men like to propose on Christmas with an engagement ring. Definitely find out her taste in rings and ring size before you do any shopping. An engagement ring is a big purchase so you need to plan a few weeks ahead. Some of my favorite jewelry brands are Black Hills Gold and Le Vian.

Personalized items make great gifts. Women especially (myself included) love snow globes and jewelry boxes. Basically anything personalized makes for a very special gift for the woman in your life. Things Remembered is my favorite place to purchase personalized items and they have a very wide selection.

If she's a reader, she's going to love some new books for Christmas. Spend some time in a bookstore or get online and check out the bestsellers and read some reviews before purchasing a couple new reads.

There are a lot of gift baskets you can purchase for women. They include everything from lotions, bath salts, and candles to loofahs and slippers.

There are so many makeup gifts you could buy for women. There's eye shadow palettes, foundations, mascara, and powder. If you're really close to her, you probably know the exact shade of foundation and powder she wears, but if you're not that close you could always go on the safe side and get her makeup items like mascara (in basic black), facial cleansers for every skin type, makeup brushes, and eye shadow that comes in a variety of colors so she has a lot to choose from. Some of my personal favorites are the chocolate bar eye shadow palette by Too Faced.

I personally love handbags and have quite a large collection. I think a handbag makes for a very nice gift. Just make sure to know a little bit about the person you're shopping for so you choose a handbag style that makes sense for her. Here's a little tip: older women tend to like bigger handbags (totes) while younger women tend to like smaller ones like wristlets and small shoulder bags. It could go either way, depending on the person, but that's usually the case.

If you don't feel comfortable buying something like a handbag, you could go smaller and just buy a wallet. A wallet is something everyone can use. If you're just buying the wallet and not a handbag and matching wallet set, you should just stick to basic colors like black, white, brown, grey, and tan so they match any type of handbags that she already owns.

Sunglasses and scarves are some accessories that many women like to wear and you don't have to worry about her specific size. Just make you that she actually likes and wears sunglasses and scarves. Some women enjoy those silky scarves and others only like the thicker ones to wear outdoors. I personally don't care for scarves either way, but a girl can never have too many shades.

If you're really close to the woman and specifically know her taste and exact size, you could buy her anything from shoes to clothes. Just know the details and you should be fine. Always include a gift receipt in case the size is wrong so she can make an exchange.

Kitchen gadgets and dinnerware are very welcome gifts for many women. Since women are usually the ones doing the cooking in a household, they appreciate any new gadgets that make their job easier. Holiday dinnerware is always a special gift that can be used throughout the holiday season for dinner parties. The Ninja blender is a popular gift this year.

Gift cards for women include your basics like store cards and restuarants but they go further to include spa, nail salon, and hair salon gift cards. You could even go further and get her a spa weekend because every woman deserves some time away where she can pamper herself.

They're the little people who make life worthwhile...or so I've heard. Children love Christmas and it means a lot to them so they are definitely the ones waiting under the Christmas tree for their gifts so make sure to get them something fun and entertaining.

Games and puzzles are a fun way to spend time with your children while also teaching them a thing or two. I loved putting those huge 1000 piece puzzles with my family when I was a kid so I know this one's a favorite. Pick a game and puzzle that is appropriate for their age. I love classic games like Monopoly, Candy Land, and Clue. Puzzles that are of their favorite cartoon or Disney movie is a nice idea.

Most children love video games and they can be a good way to keep them entertained and at the same time develop their visual and thinking skills. Game consoles like X-Box 360, Playstation, and Nintendo Wii are some of the more popular ones these days. Pick a few age appropriate games and you're set.

Girls- Dolls make great gifts whether they're Barbies she can play with or collectible dolls that can be displayed in her room.

Boys- Action figures and Legos are always fun and entertaining.

Babies- If you know their exact sizes, go ahead and buy clothes. New parents can never have enough clothes for the little ones. Baby gift baskets that consist of lotion, bath soap, wipes, and diapers are always welcome too. Personalized baby gifts like Baby's First Christmas ornaments make extra special and personal presents.

Don't forget your furry best friends. If you have a pet, I know you're probably getting him something special too so here are some ideas:

I'm a dog person so I found a website that sells many dog gifts for your best friend. Some ideas are toys, collars, beds, sweaters, feeding dishes, blankets, and even puppy cookies and candy among so many others. Definitely check this website out for dog gifts:

Some cat gifts are toys, beds, and feeding dishes. Some people also make a special stocking for their pet in which they put the gifts. I especially like the Grumpy Cat toys and collectibles, they make great gifts for humans as well.
