Girls Halloween Costume Ideas for Ages 3 to 10

Updated on October 4, 2012

Girls Ninja Costume

Girls Halloween Costume for 10 year old

This is a ninja assassin costume that our ten year old neighbor wore. She had to dagger accessories that made the all black costume that much more sinister. She described her costume as light and comfortable, but not very warm. So in California on a pleasant night the costume is quite comfortable, but on a cold night, it wouldn't work well

Girls Gypsy Costume

Girls Halloween Costume for an 8 year old

This is a gypsy costume that was largely made by my mother. She purchased a few of the items and added the lace and dangling things. She added a bit more fabric to the shirt collar so it wasn't so revealing. She removed the top of the dress to make it a skirt. I love the gypsy costume and especially its fine quality since it was largely hand made.

Girls Peacock Costume

Girls Halloween Costume for a 6 year old

The peacock is a classic costume in our family. This was originally made by my mother for our oldest daughter when she was about five. This year, Julia is wearing it and it still looks great. The feathers are sewn into the skirt and the headband adds incredible details. This costume is a favorite and has real potential for winning a costume contest. I think it's won at least two contest thus far.

Girls Cleopatra Costume

Cleopatra is a really cute costume for a little girl. The headgear is gold and the dress is quite nice. This was worn by a British girl in our neighborhood that was quite pleased with her outfit. It's good to see all the kids getting into Halloween!

Girls Sheep Costume

Girls Costume Idea for 3 year old

The sheep is back. This year, our three year old wore the sheep outfit. It's part of a set for sister costumes that my mother made as well, but this year we couldn't find the little Bo Peep dress, so Lila was the sheep that lost little Bo Peep. I love the sheep costume. For a family costume idea, I wanted all my girls to go as sheep and me to go as a wolf. Next year!

These are all totally adorable. I sort of want to make and wear that peacock costume for work tomorrow. This year I made a washing machine costume for my 3-year-old son (though it would also work perfectly for a girl). It was easy to make, super cite, and quite well-received on the trick-or-treat circuit. I may just have to post a hub about it ...

Awesome costumes. I really like the peacock one. While the babies are cute at that age, these costumes enhance their beauty.

The sheep is back! Nothing beats that costume in my opinion (though all of these are fantastic). You should totally bring it back next year and do the group thing!
