Haiku - Halloween
Happy Halloween!
Tis the season for my second favorite holiday of the year, after my birthday. When wee ones beg and plead for their treats. Their costumes were carefully planned. They are proud little pirates, princesses or punk rockers.
No matter the costume, these little ghosts and goblins are on a mission...to collect as much candy as they possibly could within their allotted time.
No obstacles will prevent these Little Mermaids or Prince Charmings from meeting their candy quota. They will leap over curbs, climb fences, bypass their tiring parents...just to get their sugar rush.
More power to these munchkins. They realize this opportunity for FREE candy only comes once a year. They firmly believe to Go Big or Go Home!
Happy trick or treating to all...
Halloween Haiku
Ghosts and Goblins wake
Searching for candy to take
Give for your own sake
Bright orange aglow
Hovering winds go in low
the candle will blow
Put forth all your trust
All Hallows Eve is a must
to collect or bust
How quickly they sprout
little princesses are out
give treats or they pout
Mist from the cauldron
warns of evilness nearby
quickly move your feet
Are you a fan of Halloween?
More Halloween Haiku
Clowns and jesters stroll
Candy for free is their goal
Parents take their toll
You got the invite
Now go on and take a bite
of sugar delight
Have them do a trick
If they really want a treat
Would that not be neat
Darkness falls quickly
Eerie sounds come from nearby
Who let the dogs out
Anticipation
Knocking on doors with such might
To all a fun fright
Eerie Witch...

Halloween is almost here! People who love that holiday will surly love these haikus and photos. I prefer the cute fun way too.
I really enjoyed reading your Haikus. It was just in time for Halloween. Thanks for the read. Voted up.
Sunshine, very true. I can't wait to see the pics. I'm sure you will share them on FB. Have a good night my friend:)
I enjoyed reading these haiku's.
I am a very big fan of Halloween. It is one of my favorite holidays of the year. I always dressed up as a child and went trick or treating plus all the fun Halloween costume parties we had every year in our house.
What are Lily&Faith dressing up as for Halloween?
lol! I wish we celebrated it more over here! love your haiku's and I can imagine you running around ragged trying to keep the kids in order when they are chasing after that chocolate!
many years ago i worked in a pub and we had a great halloween!
This is our first Halloween in the new place and 'though hubby and I are pretty much an empty nesters now, I'd still be giving away treats as a way of sharing my blessings with the children.
Fun, spooky halloween haiku hub!
I hope a cute puppy comes to my door this halloween. Do they eat snickers?
Fun, pinned it to my Halloween board, and tweeted. :)
Linda, it looks like you go all out for Halloween. If I were a little kid, your yard would scare me.
We don't get many trick or treaters around here anymore, so I don't do much.
I loved Halloween as a little kid. It was an excuse to stay out after dark!
Fun haiku poetry here for Halloween. Love your photos too! Certainly help to get us in the mood for this fun and spooky time of year.
Cute hub, Linda. it looks like you enjoy Halloween as much as I do!
Poor teddy...great hub, I don't know about passing around candies, I'll be hiding behind the curtain. :)
Halloween, one of the best holidays ever, keeps us young. Your haiku is loaded with quotable lines but I think my favorite is "To all a fun fright", wouldn't Santa be proud!
Voted up, awesome, and interesting.
Fantastic! and I love all of your pictures. I love Halloween! Watching our grandchildren have fun is such a pleasure. Thanks :)
Brilliant hub! A time of year that sound adventurous and with such great ideas one can go all out with various tricks.
We used to decorate, big time. One year, we had a live scene in each window on the front of the house. It was loads of fun, but a massive amount of work. All the teenagers who helped with the scenes grew up and moved away.
Our neighborhood kids have dwindled from over 400 to around 80, last year. I don't even dress up to greet the kids at the door. Times change, people change. One day, I realized the energy was gone.
You have a wonderful hub filled with great ideas.
DJ.
Great haiku for Halloween and great spooky photos!
What fun Haikus Lina....love them Well done for Halloween.
Sunshine, you are hilarious! You make everything fun. Halloween is not my favorite holiday, but this take on it is amusing and entertaining. Your talents and creativity are amazing. I love all the images too. Voted up+ and shared.
Seems to me that there's a whole lot that I could do in Orlando that doesn't happen in my little quiet corner of the world! I'd be worn out within the first 2 days!
Hey BTW....:( what happened to poor Teddy? Was he in an accident? Some bully beat him up?......Remind me not to ask you to bandage up my wounds!! ROFLMAO!!!
Hey Linda...I know you love Halloween. Me? Not so much. I think it may be because where I live, I don't get any little trick or treaters, so it's just an ordinary day.
My dog is funny-looking enough without a costume and my cat would never sit still long enough to let me put him in costume! I am just ZERO fun on Halloween, arent' I?
Save me some candy!
Great fun, Linda. Our dogs are too old to dress up...they don't find the humor in it...but our new kitten....she has no idea what is in store for her. LOL
Love the teddy bear! Great haikus for hallowe'en.
I know the children love dressing up but there are many people here now, it seems, who use it for the wrong reasons and some older people and those on their own are scared. We have notices for them to put on their doors - 'No trick or treating'. Bit sad really but there you go...
Younger ones have taken to having parties instead or just going round immediate neighbours.
When done in the right spirit (no pun intended!) it's great fun.
Very good, Linda. We're dressing our Chihuahua up like this for Halloween:
