Homemade Halloween Costumes

It is coming to that time of year when we get to dress up...and nobody will think you are weird. In the past I've had to come up with some last minute costumes from things around the house.

I've dressed as a Golf Trophy, costume I'll call, the perfect Bad Example, and helped room mates become toilets and preachers. It was all in good fun and most of the time we had a good laugh about it.

I've listed some of my favorite homemade costume ideas as examples of starting points to get your creative juices flowing...

My favorite was about 20 years ago, when I was doing laundry and needed a costume. Everything was stuck together so I decide to go as static cling! I won a prize that night! Anyway, dressing up is such fun.

Doing it yourself presents some challenges but can be very rewarding. So here's an idea, let's see some of the best ideas from other people. Let's share!

The Contest - Best Homemade Halloween Costume

So here's the deal.  We are having a contest to see who comes up with the best costume.  Bragging rights is the grand prize.  You will be crowned the Best homemade costume winner for the year.  Rules are simple;

  1. Must be homemade
  2. Must be clean (nothing gross or overtly dirty)
  3. Judges decision is final
  4. Entries must be submitted by Nov 15th.

So Let's submit your best idea to our Homemade Halloween Costume Contest.

      Homemade costumes are the tops. Most items can be found at home with little or no store bought items. And in many cases people love homemade better than store bought.

      Homemade Halloween costumes are the best! As a child I was most often a hobo clown, which included a flannel shirt, robe suspenders and my dad's way too big nike high tops. I won several costume prizes over the years.
