In Search Of The Easter Bunny
Where is the Easter Bunny?
In this groundbreaking investigative report, I will be searching for the Easter Bunny to learn the truth behind this mysterious legend.
We've all heard of Santa Claus. We pretty much know his entire story. He lives in the North Pole, has some elves working for him, has a wife, and he has a bunch of reindeer for pets. But what do we really know about the Easter Bunny?
The Easter Bunny visits once a year for Easter bringing eggs, chocolates, maybe some fruit (blah... who wants that?) and toys. The Easter Bunny is pretty mellow compared to Santa. He doesn't require the plate of cookies or the glass of milk. It might be a nice gesture to leave some carrots out for him, but no one really ever does. Yes, the Easter Bunny is pretty much a low-maintenance Santa Claus.
How much to we really know about the Easter Bunny? How can we find him? Does he like to hunt Easter Eggs? How does he get to so many houses each year? Does he hop to each house? Could he possibly borrow Santa's sleigh? So many questions, yet no real answers. The most important question of all is: where is the Easter Bunny?
Let's go on a quest to find out.
Does he live in a house?
My first idea was to search for him around my home and other homes. Since he likes to visit people on Easter, yet Easter's date changes each year, it could make sense that he might show up on the wrong date. He also might enjoy borrowing eggs right out of a fridge if the homeowner isn't around.
Naturally, this meant thoroughly checking my own refrigerator, as well as everyone's refrigerator I visited. Occasionally I was forced to taste test some food just to further investigate their fridge and make sure the food was something I felt the Easter Bunny would enjoy. If we are going to lure him out of hiding, we are going to need good food.
Next, I looked in closets, under beds, and checked out stuffed rabbits. You never know, the Easter Bunny could easily be confused and hiding out with stuffed animals. I could not take my chances with this.
I also questioned bunnies at my friends' homes, but still, I was not able to learn anything new about the Easter Bunny's location. If any of these rabbits knew anything, they sure were not spilling the beans... or spilling the jelly beans! Hahaha... OK, never mind.
Taking it to the streets.
Since going from home to home and raiding fridges really did not help on this Easter Bunny quest, the next step was to take it to the streets. The search had to include going from town to town, village to village, until everyone was questioned. Or maybe it just included me walking down the street and looking for some rabbits, but either way, this search was not easy.
The Easter Bunny was not just hopping around outside. This was one smart rabbit and basically impossible to find. You would think a giant hopping bunny carrying baskets, treats, and eggs would be pretty easy to spot, but that wasn't the case. I looked under bushes, in flowers beds, near trees, etc. There was no Easter Bunny to be found!
The Easter Bunny lives at the mall?
I got kind of tired and hungry from the exhaustive (and exhausting!) Easter Bunny search. I decided I needed a break. I went into the mall, because who couldn't use a refreshing Chick-fil-A milkshake at a time like this? I was pretty much feeling like I had failed my mission. Just when I was feeling at my lowest, an amazing event occurred!
I looked up and what did see? The Easter Bunny was at the mall! This was so amazing. There was a booth set up for him. Children gathered around the Easter Bunny. There was even a photographer available to take photos of the children and the Easter Bunny. This was such an incredible discovery! I was so relieved that I finally achieved my goal - I found the Easter Bunny!
I had so many questions, but to be honest, I'd spent all my money purchasing a milkshake, so I could not afford to pay to have my photo taken with the Easter Bunny. Without the cash, no one was letting me near him. That is OK. There is always next Easter! Now I know where to look and I know to have a wallet full of money next time. For now, the Easter Bunny has been found and all is well. Happy Easter!
