The Most Important Woman In Your Life

Mom. She's the most important person in our lives. If it weren't for her, you wouldn't be here. Who would kiss your boo boos when you fell? Who would be at every recital, game, or activity you had? Who would spit on a napkin and clean your face? Mom, we owe you a lot.

She is person most deserving of a gift in your life, but sometimes we get busy and everyday life just gets in the way. It's in the middle of all the hustle that you usually realize, "oh no! I didn't get Mom a gift!"

These are great gifts you can make for Mom at Christmas, Mother's Day, her birthday, or just because. They're so easy that you can make them to give to Mom when you need a gift for her in a hurry. It may seem like mom has everything, but give these gifts a try. After all, Mom deserves it, and she'll appreciate it all the more if it's something you've made yourself. After all, she's Mom. It's her job!

Give a Photo As a Gift To Mom

One quick and easy gift that Mom will enjoy is a personalized picture of you or you and your family. Have a friend take your picture and print it out at home or at a photo lab. Next, just go to the store and buy a nice frame to place your portrait in.

See, that was easy! Now, you just wrap it up and you're done. Mom will appreciate this gift because she loves to see you and she's your biggest fan. The only people she likes to see more than you are her grandkids!

Homemade Gift Coupon Book

If you're short on time and cash, homemade coupon books are the way to go. It's only right to do a little something for Mom after she's done so much for you. She'll appreciate it because she won't have to ask you to mow the lawn or wash her windows. All Mom has to do is rip a coupon out of her book and hand it to do!

Making a gift coupon book is easy. You can make it as simple or elaborate as you want. If you want to spend absolutely no money, write your coupons out by hand or print them on the computer and staple them together.

Kodak has a great downloadable template for gift coupon books. It even has a step-by-step guide to make one. Now all you have to do is think of things Mom would love for you to do for her!

Homemade Bath Salts

Poor Mom. She's under so much stress. Mom has to do it all and be it all for everybody. Doesn't she deserve some rest and relaxation? Why not make her some relaxing bath salts she can add to her bath water? This gift would go good with that coupon book you're going to make her. Let her soak and relax while you do all her chores.

How do you make scented bath salts? It's easy! Just mix up a batch and put it in a pretty jar. Come on, do it for Mom!

This recipe is for lavender, but you could easily use your mom's favorite essential oil in place of it.

Lavender Bath Salts Recipe

1 Cup Sea Salt

1 cup Epsom Salts

1/2 Cup Baking Soda

5 to 6 Drops of Lavender Essential Oil

1/4 Cup Dried Lavender Flowers (optional

Mix ingredients and stir well. Spoon into a container with a tight fitting lid. Tie a ribbon around the jar and add these instructions:

Add 1/2 to 1 cup to your bath as you fill the tub. Soak to your heart's content!

Make Mom Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Everyone loves chocolate, even Mom. Don't give her store bought chocolate covered strawberries, give her something special that came straight from you.

Making your own chocolate covered strawberries is easy. You can make her a whole dozen in no time. Use a pretty dish or box to place your strawberries in and you're done!

Chocolate Covered Strawberries Recipe

16 Ounces Chocolate Chips

2 TBSP Shortening

1 Pounds Fresh Strawberries With Leaves

  1. In a double broiler, melt chocolate and shortening. You can also melt it in the microwave, just be sure to stir often to keep the chocolate from burning.
  2. Holding the strawberries by toothpicks or skewers, dip each strawberry into the chocolate mixture.
  3. Turn the strawberries upside down into Styrofoam to dry.
  4. When chocolate is dry, place your chocolate covered strawberries into that nice box or dish you just bought.

Remember, It's All About Mom

Whatever the holiday, be sure to remember Mom. She's done so much for you, she truly deserves everything you can do for her. Even if it's not Christmas, Mother's Day or her birthday, Mom would enjoy you giving her these gifts "just because".
