When is Mother's Day?

It was United States that started off the tradition of honoring Mothers by creating a well deserved day for her and so did the world follow suit. This special day was created to enable us to wish her a Happy Mother's Day! Let's take this opportunity to get together and wish every mother on this planet and show how important they are in our lives.

In the United States, Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May and is also a holiday there. In other countries it was changed to dates that were significant to the majority religion or to historical dates that were there. Today world over Mother's Day is become a concept of celebration. The concept of celebrating Mothers Day on the second Sunday of May is quite new in India and it can be said that Mothers Day has been a great success here too. Just as in the West, Indians too take Mothers Day as a time to reflect on the importance of mothers in their life. Indians feel it is time to think about all the pains their mother took while they were sick, the hardships she went through in bringing them up and all the sacrifices she made so that they could lead a better life.

Mothers Day is the time to say a big thank you to your mother for all this and for being a constant guiding force in our lives. Let us celebrate this day on full throttle.

A Song For Mama On This Day!!!

Why Is She So Important?

As we celebrate Mother's Day, it is important to understand its importance.

A mother makes a lot of positive contribution to society. A mother is someone who brings up the child in her arms, caress' her child, feeds the baby to grow, holds the childs hand while he/she is growing and making it understand the intricacies of life, provides nourishment when it matters most and provides protection and warmth to her children whenever required.A mother is the source of birth, a life provider, a soul retriever for each and everyone, as without her earth would have been bereft of life.

There could be different kinds of mothers. A mother could have her own children or adopted ones. For adopted ones she is a stepmother, but the love does not fade due to this. Whoever be it, she is always there by her child giving away all her time to guide the child in finding its way to adulthood.

The same phenomenon is repeated in animals. Whichever species we look at Cats, dogs, lions, birds or elephants, provides us a firm belief that mother's delicate care is inborn and cannot be avoided - All mothers have this delicate care within them. We might argue that in humans a mother plays a motherly role as human race is superior to animals. But when we see animals and find the same roles, we know that it is not our civilized sense that is making motherhood so important, but it is nature which has put mothers into such a balanced role.

With this in view it becomes utmost necessary to show our gratitude, celebrate this event and honor our mothers as without them life would be meaningless.
