Manchester Christmas Market

Manchester’s Christmas markets are one of the most important parts of the city’s festive celebrations, and this year they are even more special. With the 15th anniversary of the Christmas markets in 2013, they will be showing off the best of the city’s festive heart. Choose from nine bustling markets across the city – including the brand new Corporation Street market - each with their own special character and style, but all of them, packed with some unique delights to make Christmas truly extraordinary. Quaint little wooden chalets creates an authentic traditional Christmas feeling, and with all of them located close to the city centre, visitors don’t have to travel far to come to one of the best Christmas attractions in the country.

Fantastic food for every taste

With nine fabulous markets to take your pick from, Manchester’s Christmas markets are packed with some really incredible food. From traditional German festive meats and sweet treats, to authentic Spanish paella and fine French cuisine, there is a wealth of culinary magic to try out. There are plenty of drinks to take your pick from too – enjoy a warming mug of hot chocolate to ward off the cold, or for grown ups, some richly spiced mulled wine and boutique beers! Indulge in old favourites or get adventurous and discover something new – with hundreds of stalls across the wooden chalets of the markets, there is bound to be something to whet your appetite.

As well as wonderful food, Manchester’s Christmas markets are also a prime opportunity to find some really unique gifts for the festive season, to ensure you have something for everyone on your list. The markets are a great place to explore the great range of handmade crafts produced by local and national artisans. Select from some beautiful artwork or sculptures that make perfect gifts for someone’s home – or to treat yourself to. For young people, you can choose from some lovely toys that offer something completely unlike anything you’ll see on the high street, as well as sweet knits and clothing. I was inspired to write about Manchester’s Christmas Market during a recent trip to Manchester and stayed at the The Works Manchester (just 2 min walk away from Christmas Market). During the visit I saw Manchester starting to gear up for the Christmas celebrations and that inspired me to write about Manchester Magical Christmas Market. Please do share your feedback that will really help readers, making the most out of their Christmas celebrations in Manchester.
