My Christmas day celebration and what we had for dinner
On Christmas day we went to church then came home and had dinner around 2:00pm.
We had a very enjoyable meal consisting of jerk chicken, oxtail and bean, escoveitch fish, and for the vegetarians, tofu with barbeque sauce, spinach and kale. We also had rice and gungo peas/pigeon peas, rice and red peas/kidney bean, fried plantain, salad, avocado pear, potato salad, vegetable lasagna, candid yam, sparkling grape juice, sorrel drink and for dessert a couple slices of Jamaican fruit cake.
We had a wonderful time with family and friends, giving the Lord praise, being thankful to him for keeping us safe and healthy throughout the year, praying that we will all be around, alive and healthy next year to enjoy the Christmas season together once again.
Most of us were away from home so we missed the lively Christmas spirit back home but we did our best to replicate it by having some of the festivies of our homeland for a while on Christmas day. The food was very delicious and we did enjoyed Christmas to the max, having a wonderful Christmas day full of memories, with lots of laugh and lots of pictures taken.
It came to an end all too soon for some of us at around 5:00pm as we had to get back to work.
I have made a promise to myself that I will definately be spending my next Christmas back home in Jamaica because Christmas in Jamaica is like nowhere else.
But in all it was a day very well spent.
