Bird Nests With PEEPS Candy Chicks

Birds Nests filled with PEEPS Candy Chicks and candy eggs are another wonderful, edible Easter treat that are yummy to eat and easy to make. To make the nests you will need:

  • PEEPS
  • Marshmallows
  • Rice Krispies - The Picture Above Shows The Birds Nests made of Chow Mein Noodles - Use the same recipe as with the Rice Krispie Cereal.
  • Butter
  • Sauce Pan
  • Cookie Sheet Sprayed With Cooking Spray

Melt the butter in your sauce pan over a low heat. When that's melted add the marshmallows and keep stirring until they are melted. Remove the butter/marshmallow mix from the heat. Pour the KELLOGG'S RICE KRISPIES cereal into the butter/marshmallow mix. Stir until all the cereal is coated. While it's a bit warm, form the treat mix into bird nests and lay them on the coated cookie sheet. There's the first part of this edible craft project.

The second part of this project is to set the PEEPS Candy Chicks and some candy eggs in the nests. I also found some great string licorice that you can use as Easter Grass to add a bit more color to these bird nests.

PEEPS Are Great For Making Edible Christmas Treats Too

Find the instructions on how to make these White Chocolate Gingerbread Houses at allshecooks.com. The directions are quite simple.

Melt chocolate melting chips in a double-boiler or in a bowl in the microwave. You will need 3 graham crackers (broken in half) to make one house. Dip the ends of the crackers in the melted chocolate. The chocolate will act like glue, so after you dip it, form a house. Let the chocolate get hard.

When the houses are done add some PEEPS Candy trees, snowmen, reindeer, and gingerbread men to set the scene. You can sprinkle shredded coconut to make snow over the house and surrounding ground. That's all there is to it. Visit all she cooks for more details.
