Christmas Celebrations
Celebrating Christmas- the Golden Way
Lets think!
Christmas is a time to enjoy. A time to Holiday! A time to invite Santa Claus. A time to make merry with the Christmas Tree. A time to light up your homes. People all over the world celebrate Christmas.
What has Christmas done? With its vibrant colors of Green, Red and Yellow, Christmas has brought this world closer. Everyone forgets about race, creed and religion and loves to pump in its bit during this celebration.
Let me talk about India. In India almost all the major religions of the world are celebrated. Infact, India has more than 10 religions of its own- Some of them are: Hinduism, Sikihism, Jainism, Buddhism, Islam, Zorastrianism, Christianity. Within Hinduism itself, there are various sects, within Jainism also there are various sects. Each of the religions is celebrated in its own gaiety. We are diverting a bit from Christmas, but here we go again.
Who Celebrates Christmas!
Just as all these religions are celebrated with much pomp, Christmas is also celebrated with as much flavor as any other religion in India. Not just Christians, this event is celebrated by all communities. People get artificial Christmas Trees, decorations, cakes and celebrate this lovely event with lots of pomp and gay. Even the kids love our dear old Santa Claus and wait for him to deliver the gifts. Mom's make their children do their duty by telling them Santa will come with the gifts and deliver them next to their pillows on Christmas when they are fast asleep.
Various parties are organised by children, NGOs, corporate, families and young schools. Santa is everyone's favorite with his chubby cheeks, white beard and red clothes.
Others enjoy the Christmas holiday. They go out holidaying. The markets major selling point in all the online as well as offline stores is Christmas and its unlimited discounts just after the Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Green Monday.
All the cyber walls are plastered with Christmas bells, decorated Christmas trees, Santa Caps, Santa Shoes and Santa Jackets. In a way all the communities celebrate this event. Some communities sell Christmas goodies and some buy them. So some who do not directly celebrate this event help others celebrate this bright event.
Birth of Christ
Wikipedia describes Christmas as "Christmas (Old English: Crīstesmæsse, meaning "Christ's Mass") is an annual commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ and a widely observed holiday, celebrated generally on December 25 by billions of people around the world." Thus birth of Christ is is strongly associated with this wonderful event and we see people decorating the Christmas event with Sheep, Lamb, Mother Mary and the birth of Christ on a bunch of hay.

What everyone does during Christmas!!
So what do people do during Christmas?
They send cards to the loved ones. Some send beautiful cards by mail, others send online cards by email. Still others share it on social media. I sometimes use 123greetings.com for creating and sending lovely cards to my friends.
Not just cards, but during these days people whatsapp messages, sms friends, get together. People also share Christmas jokes and Funny Christmas messages with their loved ones.
Others make fruit cakes, some light up candles, others still get gifts for the near and dear ones. I enjoy with my kids by decorating a small Christmas Tree with them. Familes get together, have dinner, cut the fruit cake and pray. They wish everyone Merry Christmas!
