Spend Christmas in Branson

Updated on November 17, 2009

Branson is famous for its shows, shopping, food, and music. During the holidays, the town goes all out, with lavish decorations, festive shows and productions, and holiday music and parades. Branson can be a great place to spend Christmas, and is an especially good option for families because of its family-oriented entertainment scene. With over 10 million lights twinkling around the city and a Christmas tree on nearly every corner, the atmosphere is perfect for a memorable Christmas!

Santa sights

Your kids will love spending Christmas in Branson because Santa Claus visits Branson each year! This year, your kids can find him at the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing. Also, the Hilton Promenade offers you the option of having Santa come to your hotel room with gifts, milk, and cookies! For a reasonable rate, you can give your kids a “Santa encounter” they will remember for a lifetime!

Fun for Mom and Dad

Several Branson hotels and lodges cater to parents as well, offering massages and music sure to entertain. Several museums in the city can also provide a day’s worth of entertainment for the adults in your family. Branson is a great place to see shows and get your holiday shopping done. Branson’s most popular holiday shows include Andy Williams, the Lennon Sisters with Tony Orlando, Debby Boone and Cathy Rigby in Peter Pan. Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede also takes on a Christmas flavor around the holiday season.

Branson is famous for its Christmas light displays, which are collectively called the Branson Area Festival of Lights. Area businesses participate in the Festival by decorating storefronts and grounds with colorful lights, Christmas trees, holly, and other Christmas décor. For more spectacular lights, travel The Shepherd of the Hills Trail of Lights, which travels through a Christmas wonderland toward Inspiration Tower. From here you can climb to the top and see all of Branson lit up!

Silver Dollar City

Silver Dollar City is an amusement park just outside Branson that combines thrill rides with traditional Ozark crafts. During the holidays, Silver Dollar City provides the holidays in the spirit of the 1880´s. Special holiday shows are given throughout the park, and Christmas food and drink such as hot cider and roasted nuts are provided. There is also a gigantic 17 foot talking Christmas Tree that talks to the kids, and a light show synchronized to music!
