Subscription Boxes For The Spookily Inclined

Updated on June 25, 2017

Everyone is talking about them and for good reason!

From YouTubers creating unboxing videos to your friends and family. Subscription boxes are something we regularly hear about due to their growing popularity and social media presence and this is because no matter who you are, what your background is or what you are passionate about in life, there is sure to be a subscription box that fits your needs and personality.

Receiving your subscription box in the post is like getting a monthly gift from yourself, only you have no idea what lies inside. It's exciting, it's fun and it allows you to try out a whole variety of new things that you perhaps would never have thought about trying before. It can acquaint you with new brands and open doors to all new fascinations or maybe even obsessions.

Frustratingly, those of us who have spookier inclinations can sometimes find it difficult to search for boxes that are targeted towards our passions. This is usually because these types of subscription companies don't always make it to featured posts or advertisements. In case any of you were having the same issue as me, I decided to produce a list of those I have come across during my search.

Spooky

Spooky Box Club are one of the most widely known subscription box companies targeted towards the alternative subcultures. They offer a new and interesting theme every single month that are always packaged in such creepy-cute ways.

The attention to detail and unusual products make them lovable for each recipient.

The monthly subscription charge is £21.00 plus £4 shipping to the UK which is a very fair price for the delights you will receive.

Horror

You may have already heard of the Nerd Block subscription box, well now they have also created Horror Block for those of us who wish that Halloween could be every month.

Each block is filled with gory goodies including t-shirts, blu-rays, figurines and so much more! Simply subscribe and pay a monthly fee of £15.51.

Variety

Aiming to meet your individual needs we have Bitch Boxes. They are fairly costly at around £100 per month but they allow you more choice and freedom when it comes to choosing your box.

Although the contents of your subscription are still a surprise, the company allows you to choose from nine completely different box themes including Pastel Goth, Corporate Goth and Victorian Goth and then again allows you to fully personalise what you wish to see within your box each month.

They also promise that each product they provide will be cruelty-free and vegan.

Witchy Boxes

For all you Witches out there, you should get subscribing to The Witch's Heart. For £15 per month plus P&P costs you will receive between 3 and 5 witchy themed items that will be handmade and fantastic quality.

From candles and crystals to pieces for your altar, this box is completely unique and offers a themed design every other month. I definitely feel that it is worth the investment.

Similarly Pagan Parcels has a selection of ethical boxes available for those who are Pagan, Wiccan, Witches or just interested in learning more. These boxes start from a monthly charge of £17.99.

Also providing a service for all your spooky and witchy needs we have Wicked Witch subscription box by Magick and Macabre Company who each month will send you a discreetly packaged, themed box filled with magical items.

Creative

The Evil Supply Company gives you the chance to receive your very own Mister Ghost's ''Highly Enviable Monthly Parcel of Simple Yet Amazing Wonderments''. Each themed box is completed with a collection of unique and wonderful items. The boxes are intended to ignite your creative side so are filled with artsy and stationary supplies.

Magestic

Finally we have the upcoming Black Unicorn Box which I believe is still in development stages. You may have seen some YouTubers doing unboxings of this or perhaps only seen post online talking about it. If you haven't then this is your chance to check it out because it is definitely something to be excited over.

Each box will follow the chosen monthly theme but what sets it apart from other subscriptions is the contents. This subscription, instead of focusing on one aspect alone, has decided to pull together a variety of interests creating a well rounded and overall more enjoyable box.
