Ten Mother's Day Gifts Expectant Mothers Will Love
Great Mother's Day Gifts to Pamper and Celebrate Pregnant Mothers-to-Be
Mother's Day gifts are a great idea for expectant mothers. Creating a new human is hard work and really takes a toll on the body. Mother's Day is the perfect time to pamper pregnant women.
She's going to have a baby shower at some point and no doubt will receive many useful things for the baby at that time. Mother's Day should be all about her so it's best to buy gifts that will support her during and after her pregnancy.
On this page you'll find some great gift ideas for Mothers-to-Be. Many of these products I own myself and the rest are items I really wish I had during my pregnancy.
My goal is to help you put a smile on her face this Mother's Day.

10. Gorgeous Scarf
Mothers Day Gift Idea for Expectant Mothers: A Gorgeous Scarf
Stylish, Colorful and Performs 'Double Duty' (I'll explain)
A scarf is an excellent Mother's Day gift idea for a mom-to-be for two important reasons:
Dresses up any outfit with a splash of color. Any outfit is instantly given a 'face-lift' when you add a scarf. Colors and textures create a focal point. She will appreciate the beauty of the scarf throughout her pregnancy but even more so after the baby arrives and her daily attire is mostly yoga pants (or whatever she managed to throw on during the two seconds she was able to set the baby down). Managing to get out of the house with a baby is challenging enough and a scarf is so easy to put on and will make her feel good about her appearance.
Can be used as a 'modesty screen' for nursing. No doubt she will buy or receive a nursing cover by the time the baby arrives. Nursing covers are great...for the first three to six months. After that time, babies become more aware and want to see the world around them. They also do not enjoy eating in the dark. Trying to use a nursing cover at this stage generally turns into a wrestling match. This is where a scarf is fantastic. She's already wearing it and it can be used as a modesty screen. The scarf doesn't cover the baby completely, he or she is able to look around, and Mom will feel a bit more comfortable that she is not completely exposed during nursing. Happy baby, happy Mama.

9. Pedicure Kit
Pamper Those Tender Feet with a Pedicure Kit - Painted toes make for happy feet : )
Smooth feet and painted toes are a great way to pamper a pregnant mom-to-be this Mother's Day. If she's in her third trimester (or mid to late in her second trimester) then no doubt she will not be able to reach her own feet comfortably. This is where hubby will earn bonus points for massaging her tired feet and painting her toenails. If hubby doesn't feel confident with his nail-painting abilities, he can organize an 'at home spa day' with her BFF and she can paint her toes.

8. Digital Camera
Easy to Use Digital Cameras from Amazon - Record those special moments with a digital camera
Nowdays we take lots of photos with our phones, and phone cameras have come a long way. But, you really do need a digital camera to capture those precious moments.
I'm guilty of using my iPhone camera way too much instead of a digital camera. What I've found is that most photos taken with my iPhone, especially those not taken outside on a sunny day, look great on the phone and on Facebook, but they leave something to be desired when printed (especially when enlarged).
Photos of your little one make great gifts for relatives. This is why I now make sure to take photos with a digital camera in addition to my iPhone.
If she doesn't already have a good quality digital camera, then this is a perfect gift idea to ensure she is able to take quality photographs of the new arrival.
7. Comfy Bath Robe
Terry Cloth Robes - Super Cozy for Pregnant Mothers
A terry cloth robe is a great gift idea for an expectant mother on Mother's Day. She may have (or soon will) outgrown her current bathrobe and a terry cloth robe is very comfortable to wear around the house or at the hospital.
Gift Giving Tip: Be sure to pick a larger size so she has some room to grow. After the baby is born, she will be able to wrap both her and the baby up in the robe while laying on the couch. Relaxing with a sleeping baby on your chest is one of life's great pleasures.
Lightweight Plush Microfiber Full Length Robe - 7 Colors, from X-Small to XXX-Large
6. Bath Oils & Body Lotion
Bath Gift Sets to Pamper and Relax - She should take full advantage of her last opportunities to relax in the tub
I can honestly say that in the year and a half since I gave birth, I can count on one hand the number of times I've had the luxury of soaking in the bathtub. Now is the time to pamper a Mom-to-be and a bath gift set is an excellent Mother's Day gift idea.
Gift Giving Tip: Make sure you find out if she has any aversions to certain scents. You don't want to buy her a vanilla-scented gift basket only to find out the smell of vanilla sends her running to the toilet.
5. Pregnancy Body Pillow
A Pregnancy Body Pillow Offers Support and Comfort While Sleeping
The Leachco Snoogle Total Body Pillow
A pregnancy body pillow is a great Mothers Day gift for expectant mothers. By the time the second trimester rolls around sleep becomes a bit awkward. A maternity body pillow offers support and provides relief so she can get a good night sleep.
The Leachco Snoogle Total Body Pillow
I used the Leachco Snoogle pillow during my pregnancy and I'm still using it 17 months later. It's great to use as a nursing pillow, especially in the first weeks postpartum when a regular nursing pillow won't fit around the belly. I currently use it as a 'bumper pillow' to help keep my restless toddler from rolling off the bed during nap time.4. iPad Mini
The iPad Mini Makes a Great Mother's Day Gift
Very convenient for new moms
The iPad mini will be a fabulous gift for an expectant mother. During the first few months with a new baby, if she is able to breastfeed then she will clock in a lot of hours with baby in arms. I'm serious, it will feel like the baby spends more time on the breast than off. My baby nursed 6 - 8 hours per day for the first three months (even more during the 6th and 12th week growth spurts!). Having an iPad Mini will help her get things done while baby is nursing.
I have both an iPhone 4 and an iPad 2. I mostly nursed with the iPhone but I wished the screen was larger. I couldn't nurse with the iPad 2 because it was too large to maneuver with one hand. This is why I think the iPad mini is the perfect nursing companion (and I want one for when I have my second baby).

Great Apps for the iPad Mini
In addition to being able to text and keep up with email, there are also many great apps she will enjoy. Here's a list of some of the ones I've used:
Full Term: She can time her contractions during labor so she can easily tell which stage of labor she's in and help see how her labor is progressing.
'Baby Tracker' from What to Expect.com: Keep track of breastfeeding hours (including how much time was spent at each breast), diapers and sleep patterns. Great for the piece of mind of any new mom.
Kindle: She can read books on her iPad. There is a great selection of books from Amazon and she can also email PDF's to be read in the Kindle app. She can't make in-app purchases but she can easily purchase from the Kindle site through the iPad browser.
Overdrive: If her local library has an e-book program then she can download this app, select the library, enter her library card number and borrow e-books for up to three weeks.
Wordpress: If she wants to set up a baby blog, I highly recommend doing so through Wordpress.com because their app is amazing. With the click of a button you can add HTML code for bold, italics, numbered and bulleted lists and add links. You can also upload photos straight from your mobile device.
Download an app called 'Apps Gone Free' and she will receive a daily list of apps that are available for free that day.
3. Comfortable Shoes
Stylish Flip Flops from Amazon - Flip flops are great for sore, swollen feet
Feet tend to swell and get very tender during pregnancy (I'm speaking from experience!). I'm a firm believer that flip-flops are acceptable office attire during the last trimester, but you don't have to look like you've just come from the beach. I've hand-picked some beautiful, stylish flip-flops that will look great with maternity clothing and help soothe sore and tender feet.
Comfy Fuzzy Slippers
If flip-flops aren't her thing (or if her third trimester falls during the cooler months) then a pair of fuzzy slippers will do the trick. A pair of fuzzy slippers with adjustable closures are perfect to accommodate her feet as they continue to swell.
Teva Pretty Rugged Sandals for Long Distance Walking
Walking is a great form of exercise while pregnant (and any time!) and Teva Pretty Rugged sandals are excellent for long distance walking whether you are walking in the city or hiking in hilly terrain.
2. Quick and Easy Coffee Maker
Bosch Tassimo: A Fast Single Serve Tea & Coffee Brewer
Although she is limiting her caffeine intake now, once the baby arrives and wants to nurse every hour throughout the night she's going to need coffee. So will Dad. The trouble is there is virtually no time to make coffee when caring for a newborn. A single serve coffee brewer is an excellent gift idea for an expectant mom because it's easy to use, the coffee is ready very quickly and there is no mess to clean up. She won't have to grind beans and it tastes so much better than instant coffee.
Gift Giving Tip: If she's a coffee lover who has had a very hard time reducing her coffee consumption during pregnancy, then it may be better to give this gift closer to her due date.
1. Mom-to-Be Jewelry
Mom & Baby Dolphin Necklace
Anything featuring mom and baby animals is super cute and will tug at her heartstrings as she prepares to transition into motherhood. The Mom and baby dolphin combination is especially fitting because dolphins symbolize nurturing and protection.
If you're buying a jewelry gift pendants are a great way to go rather than a ring because her ring size will fluctuate depending on how swollen she is.
10k Yellow Gold Mom and Baby Dolphin Necklace with Diamond Accents
Mother & Child Pendant for Mother's Day
Another great jewelry idea is a 'Mother and Child' pendant that clearly shows the bond between a Mother and her child.
Lockets - The Perfect Keepsake
A beautiful locket is a gift she will cherish for years to come. Not only is it a pretty piece of jewelry, she will treasure it even more when she adds a photo of her baby. Babies grow up so fast and it's great to be able to keep a close reminder of how little they once were.
14K Oval Locket Engraved with Flowers and Butterfly
Baby Shoe Pendants
One of the cutest things about preparing for a baby is looking at all the tiny clothing - especially the shoes, who can resist the tiny booties? Baby shoe pendants are extremely cute and she will love wearing it.
