Cheap and Easy Christmas Ornament Storage
Cheap and Easy Christmas Ornament Storage
Not having a lot of money I needed to come up with a way to store my Christmas ornaments that was efficient and cheap. I don't have many generic ornaments in their boxes. Most are different shapes because my two children have made them over the years. I have 101 ornaments. Various garland, 2 tree skirts and a supply of flat Christmas bags I bought on sale this year.
You Will Need
1- 18 gallon storage container
30-16 oz waxed cups
2- pieces of cardboard
30 plastic grocery bags
30 pipe cleaners
scissors
tape
First
1. I took two pieces of cardboard from a box I had laying around and cut them to fit in the bottom of the storage bin.
2. I used pipe cleaners to attach paper cups to the cardboard from the bottom.
Just poke a small hole through the cardboard and through each cup.
Make a loop with the pipe cleaner, run it into the cup and flatten down inside the cup.
The two tails of the pipe cleaners are on the bottom of the cardboard. Tape these down if you would like.
Second
3. Then I placed my garland in the extra space between the cups.
4. Put ornaments in the cups.
Third
5. Stuff plastic grocery bags around the top of each cup.
6. Put in second cardboard with cups...put rest of ornaments in and stuff with grocery bags.
7. Added my angel and felt elf hats and tree shirts around and on top.
I'M DONE!!! NO MORE INDIVIDUALLY WRAPPED ORNAMENTS, NO ORIGINAL BOXES TO DEAL WITH. SAVES SPACE!!! NO HIGH PRICED STORAGE BOX!!!
